BAHAWALPUR(PR)Health department has devised
an effective mechanism to fully check the illegal transplantation of human
organs in Bahawalpur division. Resultantly, no case of illegal transplantation
of human organs has been reported in this regard in 3 districts of Bahawalpur
division. This was stated by Director Health services Dr. Shahid Khaleeq in a
high level meeting to review the progress of various measures taken by the
health department regarding the performance of Punjab human organs transplant
authority in Bahawalpur division.
Commissioner Bahawalpur
Division chaired the meeting which was held in the Commissioner's conference
room. The meeting was attended by Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College
Professor Dr. Ajlal Haider Rizvi, Director Health services Dr. Shahid Khaleeq,
Medical Superintendent Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr. Rao Javed Akhter, Medical
Superintendent Civil Hospital Dr. Aziz, Surgeon Dr. Shafqat Tabassum, Dr. Javed
Iqbal, Dr. Shamshad Kazmi and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.

further briefed the meeting that district Health authorities have been
established both at district and tehsil level which has been tasked to have a
close vigil to check the illegal transplantation of human organs. He further
informed that as a result of effective and vigorous monitoring of these teams
no case of illegal human organs transplantation has been reported in the 3
districts of Bahawalpur division.

Zafar urged upon the health officials to play their role more vigorously to
fully implement the directions contained in the Punjab human organs transplant
authority to protect the human lives.
"Zero tolerance policy
regarding illegal transplantation of human organs should be maintained by
sharpen the vigil of all health facilities operating in 3 districts of the
Bahawalpur division", Commissioner Saqib Zafar noted.

Zafar directed the health authorities to play their role vigorously by
coordinating with other departments to ensure effective implementation of
government of Punjab policy regarding human organs transplantation. Later,
while presiding over a meeting of safe blood transfusion in Bahawalpur division
Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar directed health authorities that to protect
the human lives all illegal blood banks should immediately be closed in
Bahawalpur division.
Commissioner Bahawalpur
further maintained that government has authorized only those blood transfusion
banks who have been awarded license to run their facilities under the Punjab
blood transfusion authority.
Commissioner Bahawalpur called
upon officials of the health department to ensure safe blood transfusion to
protect the human lives. To achieve this target of safe blood transfusion the
monitoring process should be accelerated by widening their network at the grass
root level.
Earlier, while giving briefing
regional manager blood transfusion center Dr. Shamshad Kazmi and Drug
controller Abid Zain in their briefing maintained that safe blood transfusion
centers have been operating at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Civil Hospital and
THQs:- Ahmadpur East, Hasilpur and Yazman.

Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar paid a visit at the residence of Shaheed ASI of
counter terrorism department, Allah Ditta to offer Fatiha. DCO was accompanied
by Assistant Commissioner headquarter Muhammad Tayyab, Assistant Commissioner
Ahmad Pur East Rana Amjad Ali and EDO education Chaudhry Bashir Ahmad. DCO
condoled with the widow of Shaheed ASI Allah Ditta and the other relatives. He
prayed to almighty Allah that the soul of Shaheed Alah Ditta may rest in
eternal peace and Allah may give fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable
loss.

said that Martyrs like Allah Ditta are the pride of our nation who sacrificed
their precious lives to protect our beloved motherland. Later, on the request
of the widow of Shaheed Allah Ditta, DCO ordered education department to
immediately transfer her to a school nearer to her residence.

mobilizing all available resources to enhance the aesthetic profile of the city
by increasing the green area through effective maintenance of green belts, medians
and parks in Bahawalpur city. He made these remarks while presiding over a
meeting of the officials of PHA at the committee room of DCO Bahawalpur. The
meeting was attended by Members of Board of Directors: - Major retired Tahir
Majeed, Ameer Yousuf Ali Khan, Director PHA Rana Muhammad Qazafi, Accounts
Officer Muhammad Iqbal Tahir, Horticulturist Sajjad Ahmad and other relevant
officials. During the meeting Boards of Directors approved the sanctioning of
50 posts of baildars and Gardners on daily charge basis.

Session Judge Lodhran Bashir Ahmad Chaudhry paid a visit at Borstal Institute
and Juvenile jail Bahawalpur. He gave sympathetic hearing to the grievances and
problems of the inmate children on this occasion. He directed jail authorities
to release one inmate children on his personal surety.
