PMS organized national seminar in nine Universities through video link


BAHAWALPUR(PR)Pakistan Mathematical Society (PMS) organized national seminar in nine Universities through video link. It was 39th seminar of the series and Prof. Dr. N.M. Butt former chairman Pakistan Science Foundation delivered exclusive lecture on topic of “Scientiometrics: The Journal Impact Factor and Citation”. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur and President Pakistan Mathematical Society participated in the seminar along with faculty and students. He said that seminar series is dedicated to support and encourage those involved in research, teaching and the learning of mathematics at all levels. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Mathematical Society was established on 26th June 2001 through the strenuous efforts of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, which is rendering services for the development of mathematics and till now has organized 17 international conferences.

Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that his paramount in priority is to resolve the problems of the Cholistani people. The Cholistani community has expressed their happiness over the appointment of Provincial Minister for Cooperative as Chairman Cholistan Development Authority.

PHA has started the process of removal of vulnerable and illegal billboards in Bahawalpur city

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Parks and Horticulture Authority has started the process of removal of vulnerable and illegal billboards in Bahawalpur city. This removal process of billboards has been undertaken on the directions of Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar.
A high-level meeting of PHA under the chairmanship of Director Administration Rana Qazafi was held to review the progress in this regard. During the meeting, the meeting was briefed that in the first phase billboards have been removed from University chowk, while billboards were being removed from Saraiki Chowk and Welcome Chowk.
Assistant Director marketing PHA, Rao Jazib Saeed maintained that all illegal billboards would be removed during the current week and registration of unregistered billboards would also be completed soon.

SMBR Naseer Ahmad has directed the revenue officers to mobilize all available resources to achieve the revenue collection targets
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Senior member board of revenue Naseer Ahmad has directed the revenue officers to mobilize all available resources to achieve the revenue collection targets in Bahawalpur division. He issued these directions while presiding over a high-level meeting in the conference room of Commissioner Bahawalpur. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner coordination Saqib Ali Ateel, Additional District collector Bahawalpur Mrs. Imrana Ajmal, Additional District collector Bahawalnagar Tariq Bukhari, CO CDA Mushtaq Hussain, other revenue officials and officers of the concerned departments.
Senior member board of revenue directed the revenue officers to maintain all revenue record by adhering to the standard operational procedures for their upkeep. He further directed the revenue officers to ensure comprehensive inspection of the revenue record during their field visit and initiate disciplinary action against the concerned officials who fails to properly maintain the state documents.
"Strict adherence to rule and regulations should be ensured regarding the allotment of land on lease basis by the concerned officials", senior member of board of revenue Naseer Ahmad directed.
He further directed that revenue cases should be disposed of speedily.


Meeting to further promotes religious peace and harmony on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha

BAHAWALPUR(PR)A meeting to further promotes religious peace and harmony on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha and Moharram-ul-Haram was held in the office of Zonal Administrator Auqaf office, Bahawalpur. The meeting was chaired by Zonal Administrator Auqaf Bahawalpur Ghulam Abbas Abbasi. The meeting was attended by various religious scholars of different sects which include:- Molana Faqeer Habib-ur-Rehman Akhter, Qari Muhammad Yousuf, Zonal Khateeb Auqaf Bahawalpur Molana Abdul kareem Nadeem, Molana Sohaib, Molana Abdul Azeem, Molana Nadir Abbas Kanju, Qari Abdul Rauf.




Applications to collect the skins of the sacrificial animals on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha may be submitted till  5th of September
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Officer Coordination Chaudhry Amjad Bashir has said that applications to collect the skins of the sacrificial animals on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha may be submitted till 12:00 AM, 5th of September in the office of DCO Bahawalpur.

Punjab Government fully supported the Sustainable Development goals:Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha
LAHORE(By our Bureau Chief)Punjab Finance Minister Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha has said that Punjab Government fully supported the Sustainable Development goals and it was aligning its resources for achievement of these goals. She emphasized on addressing governance issues confronting the implementation of MDGs, especially the issues of inequalities.
                        She said this while inaugurating the Punjab Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Support Unit at Punjab Planning & Development Department Lahore. Dr. Aisha stated that we should act collectively today for our future generations; therefore, the priority-setting for SDGs should be done at the highest political level.
                        Addressing the ceremony, Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan emphasized the need of having a robust analysis of MDGs to understand the causes of Pakistan’s performance and having a solid framework for SDGs that builds on concrete lessons learnt from MDGs era and how policies and investments can be aligned so that they become touchstone for achievement of SDGs. Earlier, while giving his opening remarks, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo Secretary Planning & Development Department reaffirmed the support of the provincial government for the SDGs.
                        Speaking on the occasion, Uzma Bukhari, MPA and Convener of SDGs Task Force said that it was heartening to note that Punjab was the first province to have the SDGs Support Unit operational which showed Punjab government’s ownership of the SDGs.
Shakeel Ahmad, Assistant Country Director, UJNDP appreciated the Government of Punjab on leading the efforts on localizing the SDGs. He also mentioned that the SDGs Support Unit will serve as platform for UN-wide support at the provincial level. SDGs Support Unit will also act as nudge unit that will be instrumental in providing evidence, analysis and perspectives to inform public policy in the context of SDGs, with special focus on issues of inequality. He underscored the importance of Provincial Finance Commission Award in this regard.
Zafar ul Hassan, Chief Poverty Alleviation and SDGs, Planning Commission highlighted the need of vertical and horizontal policy coherence through institutional coordination and formal partnerships critical for SDGs implementation. SDGs Support Unit has been established by the Planning & Development with technical assistance from UNDP and Planning Commission of Pakistan further added. High-ranking government functionaries and development partners including Administrative Secretaries, Members and Chiefs of P&D, representatives from the districts and UN agencies also attended the ceremony.

39th National Seminar was held under the aegis of Pakistan Mathematical Society

BAHAWALPUR(PR)39th National Seminar was held under the aegis of Pakistan Mathematical Society and streamed live in nine universities. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur and President Pakistan Mathematical Society participated in the seminar through video link along with the faculty and students of the Department of Mathematics IUB. On this occasion renowned Nuclear Scientist and Former Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation, Prof. Dr. N.M. Butt (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) and presently Chairman Preston Institute of Nano Science and Technology delivered extensive lecture on “Scientiometrics: The Journal Impact Factor and Citation”. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Mathematical Society was established on 26th June 2001 through the strenuous efforts of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, which is rendering services for the development of mathematics and till now has organized 17 international conferences.
 

Shahnaz Perveen, PhD Scholar of  department of Education is going to defend her PhD dissertation on Friday 2nd  September  2016

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Ms. Shahnaz Perveen, PhD Scholar, department of Education, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is going to defend her PhD dissertation on Friday, 2nd  September  2016 at 10:00 am in the seminar room of the Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. She has completed her PhD dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali, Chairman and Dean Faculty of Education, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The topic of her dissertation is “A Study of factors affecting entrepreneurial attitudes of female university students in Pakistan”. Prof. Dr. Riaz Ul Haq Tariq, Chairman, National accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) Islamabad and Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, Director, Director Academics University of Sargodha, Sargodha will act as external examiners. The teachers, M.Phil and Ph.D Scholars are invited to attend the defense.
