Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Government of
Punjab would establish Girls high schools in each union council in the
province. Besides, as many as 35 thousand new class rooms would also be
constructed in Government run schools in 36 districts of the province. He made
these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting held at the committee
room of DCO Bahawalpur. The meeting was attended by Provincial
Secretary social welfare and Bait ul Maal Haroon Rafiq, MNA Begum Perveen
Masood Bhatti, MPAs: - Khalid Mahmood Waran, Fouzia Ayub Quresshi, Hasina Naz,
DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, EDO education and other relevant
officers of various departments.
"The
massive financial intervention of 56 billion and 74 million rupees is aimed to
sharpen the pace of infrastructural development by opening new girls schools in
all the 36 districts of the province and adding 35 thousand new class rooms
along-with other development initiatives in the school sector in the current
fiscal year 2016-17", Provincial Minister of Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad
Khan maintained.
Minister of
education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan urged upon officers and officials of the
education department to synergize all wings of education department both to
achieve enrollment targets and effectively check the tendency of dropout which
is crucial to ensure hundred percent literacy rate in the 36 districts of the
province. He directed the concerned officials to ensure the fullest
implementations of SOP to extend security cover to the academic institutions.
"To
maximize the participatory role of the local community new schools councils
would be revitalized which would play their role to promote modern education in
both rural and urban areas of the province", Minister of education Rana
Mashhood Ahmad Khan maintained.
Minister was briefed that 31
out of 57 declared endangered schools were being reconstructed in the first
phase which would be completed in next 2 months. The meeting was apprised of
that rupees 1.3 million have been spend to provide books, notebooks, uniforms
and scholarships to the children of Kiln workers who have been enrolled in
different schools.

remain on high vigil by devising a comprehensive and effective flood fighting
plan in district Bahawalpur. He issued these directions while presiding over a
high level meeting to review flood fighting arrangements in district Bahawalpur.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Secretary social welfare and Bait ul
Maal Haroon Rafiq, MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti, MPAs: - Khalid Mahmood
Waran, Fouzia Ayub Qureshi, Hasina Naz, DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer
Mahaar, Additional District Collector Mrs. Imrana Ajmal, EDO agriculture,
Assistant Commissioner Ahmadpur East Rana Amjad Ali, Assistant Commissioner
Bahawalpur Sadar Husnain Khalid Sanpal and other officers and officials of the
concerned departments.
"Administrative
officers, Irrigation department along-with all line departments should pool
their resources to establish tangible and vibrant flood fighting mechanism to
protect both human lives and moveable and immoveable assets in the riverine
areas", Minister of Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan urged.
The meeting was briefed that
all dikes and flood protecting structures rehabilitation and strengthening has
already been completed. The meeting was further briefed that as many as 2050 tents,
6 motor boats, 7 operating boat machines, 15 water bowlers, 11 ambulances, 13
fire fighting vehicles and other flood fighting equipments and machinery was
available with the concerned officials of their respective departments in
connection with flood fighting arrangements.

health and education delivery system is the central component of Chief Minister
Punjab's vision to provide decent health and education facilities to the
millions of people in 36 districts of the Punjab to turn Chief Minister Punjab's
egalitarian vision into reality. All stake holders should play their
constructive and effective role with missionary zeal. He made these remarks
during a meeting with elected public representatives which include:- MNA Begum
Perveen Masood Bhatti, MPAs:- Khalid Mahmood Waran, MPA Fouzia Ayub Qureshi,
MPA Hasina Naz and Mian Shahid Iqbal.
Minister
was briefed by the public representatives about various ongoing developmental
schemes in their respective electoral constituency.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan highly
appreciated the commendable leadership role of all elected public
representatives to accelerate the pace of development of all supra structure
and infrastructure projects which are focused to ensure state of the art civic
community cover to the people of Punjab.

Minister of education Rana
Mashhood Ahmad Khan took serious note of poor cleanliness and tidiness of the
schools, poor attendance of the students and directed the concerned heads of
these schools to improve their functioning within a stipulated period of one
week. Provincial Minister suspended PET of Government Shohada-e-Army public memorial
high school satellite town for engaging a student in the process of
cleanliness. Minister also inspected computer lab, science laboratory and
control room also. Minister went around different class rooms and directed to
the teachers to place date, name of the subject and the status of attendance at
the board of class rooms on regular basis. Minister urged upon the students to
focus their attention to learn modern education and skills to play their effective
role in nation building.
Punjab Government has eliminated the curse of cheating in examination system: Rana Mashhood

Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Punjab Government
has eliminated the curse of cheating in examination system by decimating
"Booti Mafia". This has promoted the supremacy of merit in education
system. He made these remarks while inspecting the ongoing training process of
newly recruited 574 educators at Government elementary teachers training
college.
"Punjab
Government has been recruiting 40 thousand new educators every year to extend
modern education facilities both in Urban and rural areas in 36 district of
Punjab province", He noted.
He said
that all recruitments have been made purely on the basis of merit.
"Capable
and enlightened teaching faculty is a key which would certainly unlock new
vista of vision, wisdom and enlightenment which would speed up the pace to
create knowledge based economy in Pakistan", he underlined.
Provincial Minister maintained
that the policy paradigm under the current leadership has placed Pakistan as
the top stock market in Asia where rising economies like China and Turkey were
vigorously investing which would provide job opportunities to our youth.

Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Government is
fully committed to bring women into the main stream in all endeavors of
Government craft through various initiatives for their socio-economic
empowerment. The major component of female empowerment is to impart skill
through sustained and comprehensive skill imparting mechanism. He made these
remarks during a visit of women chamber of commerce here, today. He was
accompanied by his wife Begum Farhat Mashhood. Project Manage women Chamber of
commerce Ms Mehwish Mohsin, Begum Naseem lodhi, Officials of the chamber and
the students were also present on this occasion.
Provincial Minister maintained
that vibrant, vigorous and effective role of women is crucial for accelerating the
pace of socio, economic development. He said that Punjab Government was
mobilizing all available resources to provide decent and honorable platform to
the women to play their role in nation building. He appreciated the efforts of
founders of women chamber of commerce Bahawalpur former MNA Sheereen Arshad.
Earlier, project Manager women Chamber of commerce Ms Mehwish Mohsin in his
welcoming remarks said that with the collaboration of Turkish Government women
chamber of commerce Bahawalpur has launched a pilot project for 125 trainee
women in the fields of language, embroidery, stitching and beautician. Ms
Mehwish Mohsin further briefed that under training women were also given rupees
1500 stipend per month along-with lunch and medical facilities. Later, Provincial
Minister visited various sections of the women chamber of commerce.
Saqib Zafar has directed officials of PHA to pull down all vulnerable bill-boards and hoarding raised on weak structures

division Saqib Zafar has directed officials of PHA to pull down within
2 weeks all vulnerable bill-boards and hoarding raised on weak
structures which
have been installed at sensitive locations in the city. He issued these
directions while presiding over a meeting held at his conference room.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner coordination Saqib
Ali Ateel, Additional district collector Imran Ajmal, Assistant
Commissioner
Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter, Director PHA Rana Qazafi, Director
local
government and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.
Commissioner Saqib Zafar
directed that all bill-boards and hoardings carrying indecent portraits and
pictures should immediately be pulled down. The meeting was briefed that PHA
has pulled down as many as 23 vulnerable bill-boards while 53 has been
repaired. The meeting was further informed that 8 out of 130 bill-boards in the
city have been identified as of vulnerable nature installed at sensitive
locations and notices have been issued to the concerned quarters for theri
removal. The meeting was further briefed that the concerned quarters of
cantonment board have been informed about hoarding and bill-boards following in
their jurisdiction.

of Punjab was mobilizing all available resources to provide all available
facilities to redress the problems of special persons and the recruitment
process through 3 percent special reserved quota is being fully implemented to
provide job opportunities to the special persons in the Punjab province. He
made these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting at the committee
room of DCO Bahawalpur. The meeting was attended by DCO Bahawalpur
Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, EDO community development, senior district officer
social welfare and relevant officers of the concerned departments.
Provincial
Secretary appreciated district administration Bahawalpur to attain 95 percent
achievement by providing employment to the special persons by allocating 81 job
opportunities for the special persons in different departments. Provincial
Secretary further maintained that Government was mobilizing all available
resources to provide job opportunities to the special persons. He said that a
bus would be provided to the girl students of Daar-ul-Atfaal for girls
Bahawalpur. During the meeting Provincial Secretary was briefed by DCO
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar that comprehensive arrangements have been
made to impart training through TEVTA and other technical training institutions
after recruitment of special persons to enable them to play their role
effectively. Later, Secretary social welfare and Bait-ul-Maal inspected
Government Technical high school and Government SD high school. He inspected
the functioning of CCTV cameras and monitoring mechanism to extend security
cover to the schools according to the approved SOP. He further directed to
arrange Mock exit exercise to sensitize the school students regarding security
arrangements.
Earlier, Provincial Secretary
paid a surprise visit at civil hospital Bahawalpur. He checked the arrangements
to supply medicines to the patients and inspected both security arrangements
and measures regarding cleanliness and tidiness. He directed to hospital
authorities to improve the cleanliness of the hospital.

juvenile jail Bahawalpur

juvenile jail Bahawalpur. He gave sympathetic hearing to the

Electricity supply suspend
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Executive Engineer Operation
MEPCO city division Bahawalpur has informed that supply of electricity would
remain suspended for 5 hours from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM on 24th of August in the
jurisdiction of Gulzar Mehal feeder of Sub division Satellite town Bahawalpur.
Similarly, on 30th of August and 31st of August, the supply of electricity
would also remain suspended of city I and city II Satellite town feeders, sub
division Abbasia and Satellite town and Abbasia Sub division respectively.
