A women hockey match was played in connection with awareness campaign regarding family planning at Government high school Satellite town Bahawalpur. The match was organized by department of population welfare Bahawalpur. The match was played between green town team and Badar Shair eleven which was won by 2-1 by Badar Shair eleven. District officer population welfare Syed Zeeshan Arif gave away winner and runner up trophies to the players of both the teams

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Advisor to Federal ombudsman colonel retired Baqir would conduct the hearing of various complaints regarding Federal departments on 29 of August instead of the earlier date fixed on 31 of August. The hearing would be conducted at the office of Punjab ombudsman in the complex of district council Bahawalpur. The advisor has directed the complainants and the concerned federal departments to appear at the fixed date and the venue fixed for this purpose.

Government of Punjab has taken effective preventive measures to ensure Congo free environment

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Government of Punjab has taken effective preventive measures to ensure Congo free environment through systematic and sustained spraying of anti-Congo insecticide to eliminate prevalence of ticks on animals. This was stated by the speakers while addressing a public awareness seminar regarding various preventive measures regarding Congo fever. The seminar was jointly organized by World Health Organization and National Institute of Health Islamabad in connection with Punjab Government's public awareness campaign to create a Congo free environment in the province.
Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor Dr. Ajlal Haider Rizvi presided over while World Health Organization's representatives Dr. Yahya Gulzar and representatives of National Institute of Health Islamabad Dr. Mumtaz Khan was the guest of honour.
The speakers maintained that Congo fever is an infectious disease which spreads through the prevalence of ticks on animals. The speakers further said that Punjab Government with the collaboration of various organizations has launched a stringent drive to decimate the ticks from the animal. Hundreds of mobile and fixed teams have been inspecting cattle farm houses in both urban and rural areas to spray anti-Congo insecticide to create a Congo free environment. The speakers urged upon the farmers  and cattle growers to sharpen their vigil to detect the prevalence of ticks on animals and if ticks were found on the animals, they should immediately informed the focal persons of live stock department whose services are available to eliminate the ticks from the animals. They further maintained that Government of Punjab has constituted special teams of live stock department to both to detect the prevalence of ticks and their immediate removal through spraying process to protect the economic rights of the consumers during the period of Eid-ul-Azha. Those who spoke on the occasion include:- World Health organization's representative Dr. Yahya Gulzar, Principal QAMC Dr. Ajlal Haider Rizvi, EDO Health Dr. Shahid Khaleeq, Focal Person Dr. Munir Azhar, Dr. Aziz, Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hassan and Dr. Mumtaz Ali Khan.

BWMC has finalized a special waste management plan on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha in Bahawalpur City:Hamad Nadeem Meerani

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Chairman Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Hamad Nadeem Meerani has said that BWMC has finalized a special waste management plan on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha in Bahawalpur City. He made these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting of BWMC, here, today. The meeting was attended by Managing Director BWMC Muhammad Naeem Akhter and the Officials of operations department of BWMC.
Chairman BWMC Hamad Nadeem Meerani while addressing the meeting said that under the directions of Chief Minister Punjab BWMC has devised a comprehensive mechanism to collect the waste of animals by distributing waste collecting bags at the door steps of the people during the Eid-ul-Azha. He further said that BWMC has adopted effective anti-Congo precautionary measures by providing Masks and gloves to their operational teams according to Eid-ul-Azha waste management plan.
