Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Arid zone research center's
innovative
endeavor to impart technical training to the peasants of cholistan would
boost
agri production in the vast arid zone of cholistan which would bring
sustainable
prosperity for hundred of thousand cholistani peasants. He made these
remarks
while speaking as a Chief Guest of a certificate awarding ceremony to
250
cholistani peasants who were trained by the arid research zone,
Bahawalpur. The ceremony was attended by Director General Pakistan
agriculture
research council Dr. Ahmad Bukhsh, Director Arid zone Malik Muhammad
Yousuf,
former MPA Sardar Jahanzaib Waran, Regional Director Allama Iqbal Open
University Khawaja Sabir Hussain. Members of Union Councils:- Bilal
Baloch,
Mian Muhammad Maqbool Joiya, Malik Abbas, Muhammad Afzal Khan, Senior
Scientific Officer & Principal Arid Zone Muhammad Jahangir shah,
agriculture scientists, large number of Cholistani community and other
officers
and officials of the concerned departments.
"Innovative
technical training program for the cholistani peasants is aimed to extend
technical skill in mechanized agriculture by adopting modern scientific
techniques, it would promote tunnel farming, kitchen gardening, sprinkling for
irrigation and protecting agro friendly insects", Provincial Minister
Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer noted.
He
further said that Chief Minister Punjab approved special development program
amounting to Rs. 2 billion and 370 million has revolutionized the socio
physical infra-structure by establishing new water reservoirs, constructing new
roads network and modernizing livestock extensive services through mobile
veterinary services.
"Chief
Minister Punjab's vision to establish state of the art livestock facilities is
turning into reality in the shape of university of animal sciences at
Bahawalpur", Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer maintained.
Earlier, while briefing the ceremony,
Director Arid research zone Dr. Malik Muhammad Yousuf maintained that special
training programs were organized to enhance technical skill in the field of
agriculture for cholistani peasants at:- Channan Peer, Cholistan Yazman, Azri,
Laal Suhanra, Chak No. 115/DNB Cholistan and Khairpur Tamewali. Earlier, former
MPA Jahanzaib Waran, Dr. Ahmad Bukhsh, Yaqoob Ghauri, Malik Abbas and
Cholistani Peasants also addressed the ceremony. Later, Provincial Minister
Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer gave away certificates among the trainee
cholistani peasants.

Colonel(R) Baqir Ahsan disposed off 16 complaints pertaining to Sui northern
gas and MEPCO and issued orders on 9 of them. Through his directions, he
extended economic relief to the tune of Rs. 2 lac and 70 thousand on the
complaints pertaining to MEPCO.

city Division Bahawalpur has said that supply of electricity would remain
suspended from 11-KV feeder Badar Shair sub Division Baghdad on 27th and 29th
of September from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Similarly supply of electricity would
also remain suspended from feeders Dera Bakha and Baghdad on 28th of September
from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
