of State for higher education
and interior Engineer Mian Muhammad Baleegh-ur-Rehman has said that
Government is fully committed to promote high quality education which
would provide a
solid, tangible, and vibrant knowledge based economy which would rapidly
turn
Pakistan into a modern welfare state. He made these remarks while
distributing
books, toys and kits containing educational material, here at his Camp
Office. The ceremony was organized under the "PARWAN" project which
jointly organized training program through the joint collaboration of
Ministry
of education and children global network Pakistan. The meeting was
attended by General
Manager Abid Hussain, Mian Shahid Iqbal Baig, District coordinator
Children
global network Shaheer Hassan Rizvi, Officers of education department,
political and social leaders and a large number of citizens.
"PARWAN project through Joint
collaboration of Ministry of education and children global network would
sharpen the pace of long term and sustainable endeavor of the government to
extend modern education facilities to the children", State Minister
Engineer Baleegh-ur-Rehman noted.
He further said that this highly
modern educational project has been launched in various districts of the
country which is a shining reflection of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif's commitment of placing education at the top of his developmental
priorities. He highly appreciated the efforts of the organizers of
"PARWAN" project for conducting this training program.
Earlier, district coordinator children
global network Shaheer Hassan Rizvi maintained that after imparting 45 days of
training to the youth 17 pre-school education centers have been established in
the far flung areas of the district.
State of the art parks would be established in the 3 districts of Bahawalpur division:Saqib Zafar
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib
Zafar has said that state of the art parks at a total area of 155 acres of land
with an estimated cost of Rs. 565 million would be established in the 3
districts of Bahawalpur division. This mega recreational project has been
proposed in the next fiscal year's developmental program which would have
modern recreational facilities of landscaping, historical monuments, sports
facilities along with botanical and zoological gardens. He made these remarks
while presiding over a high level meeting at his conference room.
The meeting was attended by District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr.
Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, Director Development and planning Saqib Ali Ateel,
Conservator of forest Faisal Haroon, Additional Commissioner revenue Munawar
Hussain, EDO Agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad, Director Parks and
Horticulture Authority Qazafi Bin Shakoor, Assistant Commissioner General Syed
Waseem Hassan, Assistant Director PHA Masroor Iqbal and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
"This mega recreational project
would provide decent recreational facilities to the millions of residents
along-with enhancing the healthy, aesthetic environmental profile of the 3
districts", Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar noted.

further said that the Rs. 565 million recreational project at 155 acres of land
include: - would include park at district Bahawalpur at an area of 67 acres
land with an estimated cost of Rs. 187 million; park at district Bahawalnagar
at an area of 30 acres land with an estimated cost of Rs. 98 million and park
at Rahim Yar Khan at an area of 58 acres land with an estimated cost of Rs. 280
million.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar
directed the officials of PHA to take effective measures to discourage the
culture of pasting banners and other material at official and other buildings
which greatly damaged the aesthetic look of the urban areas.
Director General Parks and
Horticulture Authority & DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar while speaking on
the occasion maintained that flower belts and green belts were being
established along the major road arteries of the city. He further said that the
beautification and augmentation of 17 parks has already been completed. He
further said that landscaping and beautification at all the entry points of the
city was under way.
"To provide adequate access to
the public, the contact numbers of incharge and Gardner would be displayed at
the main gates of the parks", DCO maintained.

Dr. Ahsanullah Waraich, Dr. Tariq Mahmood Langarial, Dr. Muhammad Sarwar
Khalid, Dr. Zahid Mehmood Mirza, Professor Dr. Javaid Iqbal, Professor Dr. Masroor

Shahadat Hussain Chaudhry in his remarks said that World Heart Day highlights
the significance of various Cardiac related health issues which may adequately
addressed by taking balance diets and leading normal healthy life.

Waste Management Company finalized a cleanliness and waste management program
in the vicinity more than 25 Imam Bargahs and all the routes of Procession in
Bahawalpur city. Sanitary staff would work in two shifts. The sanitary staff
would ensure cleanliness and tidiness during the Holy days of Aashura-e-Muharam.
A special monitoring team under the supervision of Operational Manager Muhammad
Imtiazullah has been constituted.
Besides,
helpline 1139 of Bahawalpur Waste Management Company would remain operational.
