BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has said that Punjab
Government is fully committed to promote industrialization on modern lines in
Bahawalpur Division. He made these remarks during a meeting with the delegation
of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce at his office. The delegation
was led by President Chamber of Commerce Mr. Zafar Sharif while other members
of delegation include: - Vice President Chaudhry Munawar Hussain, Dr. Muhammad
Aslam Shaikh, Malik Ijaz Nadeem, Waheed Arshad, Tayyab Ashiq and Syed Abeer
Haider.
During the meeting various matters of mutual interests to
promote industrialization in Bahawalpur along-with establishment of Bahawalpur
industrial state were also discussed. Commissioner Bahawalpur while talking to
the delegation maintained that Chief Minister Punjab's modern vision of
industrialization is aimed to create vibrant institutions which may adequately
meet the future challenges of industrialization. He further said that Punjab
Government is mobilizing all available resources to sharpen the pace of
industrialization by creating industrial friendly environment which is of
paramount significance to attract investment.
Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has approved to launch 5000 feet long 3 lane sewerage pipeline in Uch Sharif
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer
Mahaar has approved to launch 5000 feet long 3 lane sewerage pipeline in Uch
Sharif which would cost Rs. 8.5 million. He approved this scheme on the demands
of the residents who raised this issue in an open kachehri couple of days ago.
DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has said that this
8.5 million sewerage line project would have 3 different lanes which
include:- 2900 feet long pipeline having
radius of 24 inches; 1100 feet long pipeline having radius of 12 inches while
1000 feet long pipeline having radius of 30 inches. He further said that this
sewerage project has been designed to have 65 main holes on these 3 different
lanes.
DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has tasked Assistant Commissioner
Abdul Rauf Maher to supervise the project.
DCO has said that Punjab Government's vision of good
governance is to ensure the provision of modern and sustainable socio economic
infrastructure which is practically reflected in the launching of sewerage scheme
in Uch Sharif which would extend decent sewerage facility to the thousands of
residents.
Punjab irrigated agriculture productivity improvement project has completed 91 schemes of cementing of watercourses
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Regional Manager Punjab irrigated agriculture productivity
improvement project, Tahir Masood Shaikh has said that Punjab irrigated
agriculture productivity improvement project has completed 91 schemes of
cementing of watercourses by spending 290 million rupees in 3 districts of
Bahawalpur Division. These schemes of streamlining the flow of water were being
completed through a mega project totaling an amount of 440 million rupees
having a total number of 135 watercourses project which were accorded approval in
the financial budget of 2015-16. He made these remarks during a meeting.
Mr. Tahir Masood Shaikh further said that the remaining 44
cementing of watercourses projects were being rapidly completed by spending Rs.
150 million. These water cementing projects have an active financial
participation of the local farmer communities whose financial contribution
stands at 90 million rupees. Mr. Tahir Masood Shaikh maintained that one
cemented watercourse preserve 122 acre feet water annually which translate into
increasing the rate of per acre yield to 15 percent. He further said that
cemented watercourses reduce the per acre labour charges to 50 percent.
