BAHAWALPUR(PR)Punjab
education endowment fund has extended financial assistance to the tune of Rs.
690 million to as many as 18151 intelligent and deserving students in the 3
districts of Bahawapur division. This was stated by the officials of the PEEF
during a high level meeting which was held under the chairmanship of
Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar , at his conference room, on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner coordination Syed Waseem
Hassan, Registrar of Islamia University Dr. Abdul Sattar Khan, Director
Colleges Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Manager PEEF Nasir Subhani, PEEF officer Hafiz
Usman Ali, Principal S.E College Professor Wali Muhammad, Principal Post
Graduate College Dr. Abdul Rehman, Principal Government College of Commerce,
Principal Girls College Dubai Palace road Professor Nuzhat Nazli,
representatives of various educational institutions and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
The
meeting was further briefed that out of 690 million rupees of scholarships to
the 18151 students of the 3 districts of Bahawalpur division include: -
Scholarships amounting to Rs. 268.5 million for 6611 students of district
Bahawalpur, scholarships to the tune of Rs. 210 million for 5751 students of
district Bahawalnagar and scholarships to the tune of Rs. 214.2 million for
5795 students of district Rahim Yar Khan.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar while addressing the meeting maintained that
Punjab education endowment fund's central concept revolves around extending
sustainable financial assistance to the intelligent and deserving students to
carry on their academic career.
"To
raise public awareness regarding the long term impact of this investment in
building strong and vibrant human resource base, all stake holders should play
their role with missionary zeal", Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib
Zafar noted.
The
meeting was further briefed that Chief Minister Punjab would pay a visit at
Bahawalpur to participate in the scholarship awarding ceremony to the students
and all arrangements in this regard has been finalized.

Commissioner Liaqatpur, district Rahim Yar Khan Captain (R) Shah Meer on the
eve of his transfer as Assistant Commissioner Shaikhupura.
The
outgoing Assistant Commissioner Liaqatpur paid a farewell call at Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar who expressed well wishes for the outgoing
Assistant Commissioner Liaqatpur Captain (R) Shah Meer.
Punjab Government would spend massive funds to modernize livestock farming:Iqbal Channer

Minister for Cooperative & Chairman Cholistan Development Authority Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Punjab Government would spend massive
funds to the tune of Rs. 9 billion and 227 million to modernize livestock
farming which is aimed to bring prosperity for the peasants and farmers in 36 districts
of the Punjab province. He made these remarks while awarding certificates as a
Chief Guest among the participants who attended 4 days training workshop at
livestock development farm CHAPU, Cholistan, here, today. The 4 days training
workshop was organized by Directorate of livestock Cholistan and livestock and
dairy development Punjab.
"4
days technical training was specifically designed to impart modern skill raising
of the peasants of Cholistan which would boost the livestock sector's
productivity by adopting modern livestock techniques", Provincial Minister
Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer noted.
The
ceremony was attended by Director Livestock Cholistan Development Authority Dr.
Shabbir Shahid, technical staff and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.

Masood Bhatti has said that Imran Khan's political protest is "ill-timed"
which would further polarize the political culture which is extremely detrimental
to the vital state interest at these highly fluid and delicate security
arrangements in the history of our country. She made these remarks in a press
statement.
"Instead
of political protest and moving towards Raiwand Pakistan Tehreek Insaf should
strengthen the hands of our security agencies by playing constructive and
mature political role", She noted. She emphasized that Pakistan Tehreek
Insaf should display mature political behavior when Pakistan's state is facing
great external challenges of national security.

Muhammad Iqbal Channer visited the residence of late journalist Amjad Qureshi
to condole and offer Fatiha on the eve of the death of veteran journalist. He
offered Fatiha and prayed that the soul of late Amjad Qureshi may rest in
eternal peace.
While
condoling with Ayaz Qureshi, the son of late Amjad Qureshi, Provincial Minister
Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer maintained that late Amjad Qureshi was braved, courageous
and competent journalist of our region.
Meeting of Divisional task force Punjab food authority
BAHAWALPUR(PR)A
meeting of Divisional task force Punjab food authority would be held at 2:30 PM
on 3rd of October at the conference room of Commissioner Bahawalpur.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar would preside over the meeting. The two DCOs
and relevant officers of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar would participate in
the meeting through video link.
