one day seminar was organized on the topic of "Peace, tolerance and
Harmony" at Rashidia Auditorium Bahawalpur. The seminar was
organized by Directorate of Public Relations government of the Punjab,
Bahawalpur. Member standing committee for information and broadcasting MNA
Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti presided over the ceremony. The seminar was
attended by Prominent intellectual and Poet Syed Tabish Alweri, Malik
Habibullah Bhutta, Father Iftikhar Moon, Professor Dr. Aslam Adeeb, Shahood
Rizvi, Jamshaid Kareem Khan, prominent journalist Majeed Gill, Riaz Baloch,
Tanveer Hassan, Mrs. Iffat Javed, Mrs. Noor Jahan Naeem, Asia Kamil, various
religious scholars, Traders, Lawyers and a large number of civil society
representatives.

Masood Bhatti said that Islam's glorious teachings promote peace, tranquility
and mutual respect for all philosophies which is vital to ensure sustainable
state and societal peace and tranquility. She further said that under the
leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif landmark solid and
effective achievements for sustainable peace have produced conducive socio
cultural environment which is vital for economic progress in the country. She
highly appreciated the initiative of the Information department of holding
seminar on the topic of peace.
Former
parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alweri in his address said that culture of
democracy promotes peace which must be nurtured by all the stake holder.
Malik
Habibullah Bhutta maintained that solid mechanism to pay respect to human
rights is vital for promoting the social values of tolerance in society.
Prominent
intellectual Professor Dr. Aslam Adeeb urged that special attention must be
paid for proper socialization of our younger generation to institutionalize
cultural values of peace and tolerance.
Father
Iftikhar Moon said that enlightened and progressive education is critical to
restructure the new platform of cultural and civilizational harmony.
Chairman
History department Islamia University Bahawalpur Dr. Shahid Rizvi said that
peace is pre-requisite to have a sustainable sociology of socio economic
development.
Professor
Dr. Rab Nawaz Kawish said that tolerance flourishes in pluralistic society
which warrants collective societal efforts.
President
Nazria Pakistan Muzaffar Garh Abdul Mujeeb khan said effective self
accountability promotes peace.
The
seminar was also addressed by Riaz Baloch, Mrs. Asia Kamil, Javed Akhter
chaudhry, Parveen Ata Malik and Molana Muhammad Saleem who emphasized the need
to establish a modern platform of having wide ranging societal input to promote
the culture of peace, tranquility and tolerance in the country. They all
appreciated Directorate of Public Relation's initiative for organizing a
seminar on the topic of peace.

Muhammad Iqbal Channer inspected the route of main Azadari procession of 7th
Moharram at Bahawalpur city. He was accompanied by District Coordination
Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, District Police Officer &
Acting Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Ashfaq Khan, President of trade union
Hafiz Muhammad Younis, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem
Akhter, TMO Arshad Ghumman and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.
Provincial
Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer inspected security arrangements and the
profile of municipality services of the Azadari procession through thorough
inspection on foot. He visited Chowk Bazar, Machli Bazar and other areas of the
route.

Police Officer Ashfaq Khan briefed the Minister about security arrangements.
129 development schemes have being completed in the three districts of Bahawalpur division

Health engineering department's 129 development schemes have being completed
with the spending of massive development funds to the tune of Rs. 7 billion and
510 million in the three districts of Bahawalpur division. This was stated by
the concerned officials of the public health department in a review meeting of
development schemes held under the chairmanship of Parliamentary Secretary for
trade and Commerce MNA Mian Najeeb-ud-din Awaisi, at the conference room of
Commissioner Bahawalpur. The meeting was attended by Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Director Development and Finance Saqib Ali
Ateel, Superintending Engineer of Public Health Engineering department Javed
Akhter and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The
meeting was briefed that out of 129 development schemes in the three districts
of Bahawalpur division with a total allocation of Rs. 7 billion and 510 million
include: - 53 development schemes with allocation of Rs. 1 billion and 130
million at district Bahawalpur, 48 development schemes with earmarked funds to
the tune of Rs. 3 billion and 140 million at district Bahawalnagar and 28
development schemes with the spending of Rs. 3 billion and 230 million at
district Rahim Yar Khan.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar expressed his displeasure over the slow pace
and undue delay in the completion of 74 new development schemes of public
health engineering. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be
initiated against the concerned officials in this regard.
While
addressing the meeting Parliamentary Secretary for trade and Commerce MNA Mian
Najeeb-ud-din Awaisi said that Punjab Government has allocated billions of Rs.
to accelerate the pace of socio economic development in southern Punjab. He
urged upon the concerned officials to pay special attention to ensure high
quality of development work which should be completed within the stipulated
period of their completion to extend decent and comfortable socio economic
amenities to the people of Bahawalpur.

captain of Jazz rising star cricket team Muhammad Rafay at his committee room,
here, today. Assistant Commissioner Headquarter Muhammad Tayyab, Divisional
sports Officer Syed Muhammad Mateen and district officer sports
Maqsood-ul-Hassan were also present on this occasion.

farewell ceremony was held on the eve of retirement of District Accounts
Officer Rahim Yar Khan Malik Munir Kulyar, at Noor Mahal, on Saturday. The
ceremony was organized by Welcon development organization. The ceremony was presided
over by former Deputy Auditor General of Pakistan Malik Allah Bukhsh Kulyar.
The ceremony was attended by Allah Bukhsh Kulyar Madni, Sobaydar Yar Muhammad
Kulyar, Hafiz Anees, Professor Asghar Kulyar, Advocate Shah Nawaz, Malik Waheed
