BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial
Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the total
enrolment of students has enhanced from 8 million to 12.5 million in the Punjab
province and Punjab government has decided to construct as many as 36 thousand
new class rooms to cater the future requirements by expanding and modernizing
the physical infra-structure in the public schools in the 36 districts of
Punjab province.
"The
tremendous increase in the quantum of enrolment to the tune of 4.5 million
students is a shining and glorious practical reflection of our teacher's
strong, vibrant and vigorous commitment to establish highly skilled and
educated country", Provincial Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad
Khan noted.
He
made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony on the occasion
of "World Teachers Day" and awarding VIP special cards to the
teachers in recognition of their excellent performance held at Ghulam Muhammad
Ghotvi Hall at Islamia University, Bahawalpur . The ceremony was
attended by Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer,
Vice Chancellor Islamia University Professor Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, MPAs: - Afzal
Gill, Hasina Naz, DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, DPO Bahawalpur
Ishfaq Hussain, EDOs, President Chamber of Commerce and industries Chaudhry
Muhammad Saleem, former president Chamber of Commerce Rana Tariq, Professors,
lecturers, President of trading association Hafiz Muhammad Younis, Civil
society representatives, educationists, students and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
"Teacher's
role is a key to maximize the pace of educating our youth which is vital to
create a skilled and highly educated human resource base which would shape a
modern and vibrant knowledge economy which would bring sustainable peace and
progress in the society", He maintained.
Provincial
Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Chief Minister Punjab's modern
and egalitarian vision is turning into living reality by increasing education
budget to the tune of 36 percent and the induction of one lac and fifty
thousand teachers purely in a transparent and merit based mechanism. He further
said that government has planned to recruit as many as 70 thousand more
teachers in Punjab province. Provincial Minister highly appreciated a visionary
initiative of DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar's of awarding VIP
special cards to teachers of district Bahawalpur in recognition of their
outstanding services. He announced that this initiative should be expanded to
the 36 districts of the Punjab province. Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood
Ahmad Khan paid rich tribute to the glorious services of teachers who stand as
vanguard to win the battle against ignorance and illiteracy. He said that our
collective endeavor to establish a modern, educated, and progressive and egalitarian
society would certainly get materialized through the committed services of our teaching
community.
Provincial
Minister for cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer said that our future lies
in the hands of our teachers who can channelize the energies of our youth by
imparting them state of the art skill and education which would enable them
meet the colossal challenges of the emerging world. He highly appreciated
district government Bahawalpur's initiative of awarding VIP special cards to
the teachers for their outstanding services.

Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar while speaking on the occasion said that district
government's initiative of awarding VIP special cards to the practically
acknowledge the splendid services of teachers posted in the far flung areas.
"VIP
special card holder teachers would be entitled 50 percent discount to avail
various facilities at: - Pharmacies, Pathological laboratories, Clinics, Restaurants
and transport companies", He noted.
He
further said that the card holders would enjoy a special and preferable
treatment at all government offices.

Bahawalpur Ishfaq Hussain while speaking on the occasion announced that
teachers shape the destiny of nation. He further said that the teacher's role
is critical to create a vibrant and highly intellectual society which brings
grace and glory both for state and society. He also announced that the teachers
would be preferred to avail driving license on priority basis.
The
ceremony was also addressed by EDO education, teachers: - Faiqa Shaheen Kosar and Allah Ditta. They
thanked DCO Bahawalpur for initiating the process of awarding VIP special cards
to the teachers. Later, Provincial Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad
Khan, Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer, DCO Dr.
Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, DPO Ishfaq Hussain, MPAs: - Afzal Gill, Hasina Naz, Vice

cards to initially 10 selected teachers.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan visited Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur

Minister for education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan visited Sadiq Public School,
Bahawalpur. He was accompanied by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division
Saqib Zafar, Principal Sadiq Public School Professor Nauman Ahmad Qureshi, EDO
education Chaudhry Bashir Ahmad, teachers and other officers and officials of
the concerned departments.
During
his visit he went around various sections of the school including library and
different departments. He showed keen interest both in the curricular and extra-curricular
activities of the school. He asked the school administration to adhere to Chief
Minister Punjab's school adopt policy which is aimed to extend the services of
the central facility to schools in its vicinity. Principal Sadiq Public School
Professor Nauman Ahamd Qureshi briefed the Provincial Minister about the
outstanding achievements of its students. Later, Provincial Minister for education
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan inspected Government Abbasia Higher secondary school.
He inspected play grounds, laboratories and library of the school. He mingled
with students and exchanged his views with them. He highly appreciated the
performance of the students. Later, Principal of Government Abbasia Higher
Secondary School, Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem briefed the Minister that around 3
thousand students were studying at Government Abbasia Higher Secondary school.
Control room established at Commissioner Office Bahawalpur to monitor the security
arrangements during Aashura Muharram
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Under
the directions of Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar a control room
has been established at Commissioner Office Bahawalpur to monitor the security
arrangements during Aashura Muharram. Assistant Commissioner General Syed
Waseem Hassan has been made in-charge of the control room. The contact numbers

062-9250073 and Mobile Number: 0300-9679306. This control room would remain
operational around the clock.
DCO imposed section 144
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District
Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has banned under
section 144, the holding of public meetings and processions without prior
approval during Moharram-ul-Haram. He has also directed to adhere to the timing
and routes of the Azadari processions. He has further prohibited the display of
all types of weapons. Under this order all shops falling under the routes of
Azadari Processions would remain closed. Besides, standing at the roof tops on
the routes of Azadari processions has also been prohibited. All hate material
through pamphlets, banners, brushers and through printed material along-with
wall chalking has also been banned. All audio and video cassettes containing
objectionable material have also been banned. The use of loud speakers except
for prayer calling and Jumma Prayers would also stand ban. Pillion riding has
also been banned on 9th and 10th of Moharram. This order would come into effect
immediately and would remain in operation till further order.

Bahawalpur which would establish a solid, vibrant and vigorous Information
Technology infra-structure which would sharpen the pace of modernizing the
