THE RECONSTITUTION OF BAHAWALPUR ' S HISTORICAL GATES - Honorable COMMISSIONER BAHAWALPUR DIVISION MR.SAQIB ZAFAR HAS MADE BAHAWALPUR "THE CITY OF LIGHTS AND FLOWERS"

A GREAT TRIBUTE IN THE HONOUR OF COMMISSIONER BAHAWALPUR DIVISION MR.SAQIB ZAFAR,  BY LOCAL RESIDENTS OF BAHAWALPUR

Bahawalpur, The  Princely State, having rich heritage and known for glorious Empire of kings in the past and an important hot spot for historians as well as archeologists.   In the former State of Bahawalpur, NAWAB had built Eight (08) Giant Gates around the city in different places  for the impressive entrance in the main Bahawalpur City which were gradually demolished with the passage of time and the places of few Historical Gates were occupied by "QABZA GROUPS"   as well as  no restoration work has ever been done by authorities neither any efforts were made to reclaim the sites of historic Gates of the city.

Although in Bahawalpur Division, there are many "LITERATURE PRO/Progressive Mind" Commissioners were posted and they have contributed their role very effectively in the development of the city. Among those great personalities, few of them are as under:-

3. Mr.Manzoor ELLAHI
4. Mr.Musarat Hussain Zubairi
5. Mr.Murtaza Baig Barlas
6. Syed Masood Ahmed Shah

8. Mr.Tariq Mahmood
9. Syed Shoukat Ali Shah 

But now, at the present;  Honorable Commissioner Mr.Saqib Zafar's name will always be remembered in the History of Bahawalpur and Incoming Historian / Analyst  will not be able to complete the history without introduction of Mr.Saqib Zafar , as, he, after taking charge of his responsibilities, accordingly,  he has been ordered down the line to the reconstitution of Historical Gates and development of the city with new and beautiful way with the consultation of expert architects and historians to regain the LOST MONUMENTS / GATES  in their original look.

For these mega projects, at the cost of Rs.2.5(Million) provided by the Government,    and now at present these Giant Gates, " itself are a Pieces of Art ".  These Historical Gates are known as :-

• Farid Gate
• Multani Gate
• Shikarpuri Gate
• Derawari Gate
• Mohri Gate
• Ahmed Puri Gate

Citizens of Bahawalpur specially new generation is very enthusiastic and enjoying to sight the view of glorious and splendid Historical Gates on daily basis.

In the end, it is worth mentioning that the steps taken by Honorable Commissioner are truly stunning and commendable because he has been given the precious and huge gifts to the people of Bahawalpur by getting reconstitution of history by which he will always be alive in the hearts of People of Bahawalpur.
