BAHAWALPUR(PR)23 trucks containing food packets by Chief
Minister Punjab were sent for the residents of the far flung areas of Cholistan
by Cholistan Development Authority here, today. On this occasion Chairman CDA
& Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar and MD
CDA Naeem Iqbal Bukhari dispatched the trucks from the office of Cholistan
Development Authority.
"Chief Minister Punjab's special
initiative of extending "food cover" is aimed to facilitate the
cholistani people through a planned and sustained mechanism", Chairman CDA
& Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar maintained.The food packets are comprised of: - Pulses,
Sugar, Rice, Ghee, Cooking Oil, Tea, Spices and other food items.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Muhammad
Idrees Ahmad has directed all the District Police Officers of the Bahawalpur
region to launch a "3 prong anti-crime" crackdown to wipe out the
menace of criminality which include: - arrest of the proclaim offenders,
crackdown against unregistered vehicles and to streamline the investigation
process by adhering to effective time line which is vital in extending criminal
justice. He issued these directions while chairing a high level meeting.
"The immediate crackdown against
proclaim offenders in general and top 20 proclaim offenders in particular is a key
to check the prevalence of incidence of criminality", Regional Police
Officer Muhammad Idrees Ahmad noted.
RPO emphasized the need to sharpen the
vigil to check the free utilization of unregistered vehicles which are mostly
used for the acts of criminality.
"The investigation process must be
streamlined on scientific lines by ensuring merit based investigation which must
be finalized within a specific time frame which would boost the pace of
ensuring criminal justice", He maintained.
He directed the District Police
Officers to take stringent measures against those investigation officers who
failed to perform their duties diligently and honestly.
"Special measures must be taken to
wipe out narcotics dense and brothel houses", He directed.
"Effective measures should be
undertaken to install CCTV cameras and security alarms at all business centers
which include:- jewelry shops, money changers, patrol pumps and owners of these
enterprises must be directed to adhere to the security standard operational
procedures", He asked.
DCO has urged upon the members of civil society and traders
community to play their c role in the ongoing anti
encroachment endeavor
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr.
Ehtisham Anwr Mahar has urged upon the members of civil society and traders
community to play their constructive and effective role in the ongoing anti
encroachment endeavor which would enhance both aesthetic profile of the city
and provide easy access to the consumers to the shopping markets in Bahawalpur
city. He made these remarks while presiding over a joint meeting of traders
community, civil society representatives and government officials. The meeting
was attended by Additional District Collector Mrs. Nausheen Malik, Assistant
Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter, Assistant Commissioner Head
Quarter Muhammad Tayyab, Secretary regional transport authority Tanveer
Jhandeer, DO Accounts Muhammad Shafqat, Hafiz Muhammad Younis, Syed Israr Shah,
Meer Jamal, Javed Karim, Tariq Abbasi, Hafiz Khalid Mahmood and other officers
and officials of the concerned departments.
DCO while addressing the meeting said that
local administration plan to establish modern food street to convert circular
road into a model avenue and to install traffic signals at important squares of
the city. He further said that effective measures are underway to expand and
beautify Shahi Bazar situated in a inner most part of Farid Gate.
"Bahawalpur Waste Management Company has
the capacity to handle 86 percent of garbage of the city and its capacity would
be enhanced to dispose off 100 percent garbage within the next 3 months",
DCO noted.
He further said that local committees would
be constituted which would supervise the cleanliness and beautification process
both for the internal and external parts of the city.
Governing body of CDA
has approved of regularizing the services of work charge employees of Cholistan:

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Chairman CDA & Provincial Minister for
Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that governing body of CDA
has approved of regularizing the services of work charge employees of Cholistan
C-pipeline, lifting the ban on recruitment and converting the SNE of the employees
in regular budget and establishing a housing society for employees of CDA.
These measures are practical reflection of Government of Punjab to extend
maximum economic relief to Government employees.
He made these remarks while speaking as a
Chief Guest at a thanks giving ceremony organized by the employees of Cholistan
Development Authority. The ceremony was attended by MD Cholistan
Development Authority Syed Naeem Iqbal Bukhari, Director Revenue Mian Imam
Bukhsh, Idrees Ghauri, Malik Jan Muhammad, Muhammad Shafiq Nasir, Muhammad
Ahmad Sabagh, Malik Zafar, Rana Waheed Sultan and a large number of CDA
employees.
