BAHAWALPUR - WINTER WOES. INHABITANTS OF BAHAWALPUR REGION ALREADY HABITUAL OF FREQUENT POWER BREAK DOWN, BUT NOW THEY ARE SUFFERING FROM LOAD SHEDDING OF GAS
WOW, WHAT A GREAT GOVERNMENT OF MUSLIM LEAGUE (N) DURING THEIR REGIME, THE STOVES OF HOUSEHOLDS REMAIN COLD.
WOMEN, CHILDREN, STUDENTS, PATIENTS & SENIOR CITIZENS ARE MAIN VICTIMS.
In
Pakistan, till about a few years ago, the word "LOAD SHEDDING" was only
used in terms of ELECTRICITY SHORT FALL. However, now, the people of
Pakistan is also suffering from both "GAS & ELECTRIC LOAD SHEDDING"
frequently especially "GAS FAILURE / SHORTFALL" in Winter.
During
the last few years we have seen incredible rise in the non availability
of gas across the country resulting in extreme inconvenience for
everyone especially women are the main victims by the unbalanced
schedule of load shedding of gas by the authorities. Even making a
simple CHAPATTI has become next to impossible, that's why people have
been forced to buy DANGEROUS & RISKY GAS CYLINDERS. Simultaneously
rates of LPG Cylinder, Coal and Fire Wood have also been increased
considerably besides this new connections for GAS are extremely
difficult for common people.
Mostly people have
even resorted to illegal methods like installing motors / compressors
for sucking gas in their stoves, which suck all the gas from
neighbouring pipelines resulting in a very unbalanced distribution,
due to these dangerous & risky activities, lots of people left
completely without gas,
and the other hand may causes heavy accidents.
Women
& men, young & old, people are protesting against prevailing
gas & electricity load shedding around the country, due to
unscheduled & prolonged load shedding of gas as well as
electricity, has multiplied the sufferings of people in different
shapes, housewives facing too much problems to run their kitchen
smoothly as due to lack of natural gas their is very low pressure or
flame in stoves that's why they can't cook breakfast, lunch or dinner
properly and compel to bring food stuff from market which is very much
expensive and unhygienic. Besides this the residents have to use fire
wood for preparation of meals, water heating taking bath and other
purposes as well which is not affordable for everyone as heaters and
geysers are useless by the shortage of gas.
At
present era different type of diseases with patients are common at
every home and we can't take care properly our loved ones due to
frequent load shedding, which effecting almost every sphere of life
including businesses, professionals, skilled, un skilled, lab ours,
students, farmers, housewives, hospitals and construction activities as
suspension in power supplies meant stoppage of work involving
electricity or gas. No one can calculate personal and collective
economic losses suffering during load shedding both urban and rural
areas.
The cruel schedule of load shedding in
morning time is not affordable for common people because everybody in
rush to reach their destination but gas pressure restore in stoves at
7:30 am only for two hours and at 9:30 am then gas pressure lost, after lapse of long period again gas restored at 5:30 pm
in evening for two hours & will disappear overnight, breakfast for
family specially for school and office going couldn't properly prepare
nor lunch timing observed by the authorities. This is an abuse of
powers, by authorities.
In my opinion, if
government take some serious remedial measures for the reduction of both
shareholding, or , if this reduction remain sustained and government
is able to eliminate the menace of crippling shortage by the end of its
tenure it would surely reap the benefits in the next General Elections.
In this context I would like to request to Prime Minister of Pakistan
Mr.
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to please look into the matter personally and
ordered to SNGPL authorities to investigate and resolve this issue
urgently for the relief of citizens of Pakistan as you have already
committed in last General Elections with people to eliminate
electricity and gas load shedding.
