BAHAWALPUR(PR)Government is constructing a new jail with the total
allocation of Rs. 1318 million at District Lodhran which would be completed by
June 2017. This was stated by Superintendent Central Jail Bahawalpur, Shahram
Tauqeer Khan.
Superintendent central jail Bahawalpur further said
that Inspector General prison Punjab Lahore, Mian Farooq Nazeer paid a visit at
under construction district jail to review the pace of developmental work. He
was accompanied by X-en Building Lodhran, Line Superintendent (Construction)
MEPCO wapda lodhran, Superintendent Sui Northern Gas pipelines limited lodhran
and Deputy Collector irrigation lodhran. Inspector General Prison was briefed
that around 70 percent of development work of this project has already been
completed.

mobilizing all available resources regarding population welfare through the functioning
of 5 family health clinics, 68 welfare centers while utilizing the services of
52 social mobilizers in district Bahawalpur. This was stated by District Officer
Population Welfare Bahawalpur, Syed Zeeshan Arif while addressing a seminar
organized by the population welfare department for local body representatives.
District Population Welfare Officer Syed Zeeshan Arif
highlighted various socio economic repercussions of population explosion. He
urged upon opinion leaders of all segments of society to play their role
effectively for public awareness regarding the significance of population
welfare.
Deputy District officer population welfare Muhammad
Idrees and Mufti Allama Muhammad Akbar also addressed the seminar while local
body representatives Chaudhry Anwer Goraya, Imran Maaz and Muhammad Saleem
appreciated the functioning of the population welfare department.

BAHAWALPUR(PR) Inter District rescue challenge of Bahawalpur
region's Punjab emergency service rescue 1122 was held at divisional Head
Quarter in which the contestants of 3 districts were participated. According to
the results District Rahim Yar Khan stood first while District Bahawalpur and
District Bahawalnagar secured second and third position respectively. Later,
Divisional Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dr. Asif Rahim Channar gave away
prizes among the winners.
3 days Inter collegiate football championship was
held at Government S. E College Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR(PR) Three days Inter collegiate football championship was
held at Government S. E College Bahawalpur. Director Anti Corruption
establishment Bahawalpur division Syed Tariq Mahmood Bukhari was the Chief
Guest at the concluding ceremony.

while speaking on the occasion said that sports play constructive and positive
role in socializing the youth on healthy socio cultural lines. He hoped that
these sports activities would promote sports culture in the academic
institutions.

Dr. Haji Wali Muhammad highlighted various features of the championship. The
ceremony was attended by in-charges sports of various academic institutions,
teachers, students and a large number of sports fans. Later, Principal S.E
College Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Haji Wali Muhammad gave away commemorative
shields to in-charge health and physical education department of government S.E
College Professor Abdul Hai Alvi, Professor Junaid Rehman and Professor
Muhammad Iqbal for their outstanding performances.
