BAHAWALPUR(PR) District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtasham
Anwar Mahar has said that 4 days "School Olympics 2016 Bahawalpur's mega
sports festival" having participation of more than two thousand girls and
boys students would systematically institutionalize sports culture by having
"sports paradigm shift" in the school's sports culture. He made these
remarks while speaking as a chief guest at a concluding ceremony of 4 days
"school Olympics sports festival" at dring stadium Bahawalpur.
"Bahawalpur's fertile land having the splendid
and glorious pride of gifting players to the global spectators would again
re-generate great athletes and players by virtue of sports events like
"school Olympics sports festival 20016", DCO maintained.
"Players like flying horse Samiullah, Olympian
Muteeullah Khan and Kaleemullah Khan hailing from this culturally rich city of
Bahawalpur earned glory and grace for our motherland and this school Olympics
sports event would serve as vibrant, dynamic and vigorous catalyst which would
initiate a sports chain reaction to again produce athletes and sports of international
stature", DCO maintained.
DCO further said that dring stadium hosted the first
ever cricket match between India and Pakistan way back in 1954, 1955 and now
yet again it has hosted the sports event which has no parallel in the sports
history of our motherland.
"School Olympics major aim is to provide healthy,
constructive and conducive environment and opportunities to the students to
channelize their potential and energies on healthy lines for their balanced and
vibrant socialization", DCO maintained.
DCO Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar highly appreciated the
splendid and glorious display of sportsmanship by 2 thousand participants and
hoped that these talented and hardworking players would make their mark both
national and international level.
"District Administration was fully committed to
strengthen and modernize the sports infra-structure in Bahawalpur and holding
of this mega event is the reflection of its unflinching commitment in this
regard", DCO maintained.

Mahar on this occasion promised to establish a Astroturf hockey ground at
Ahmadpur East.
Later, trophies, shields and prizes were distributed
among the position holder students of various events of school Olympics sports
festival. At the concluding ceremony children sung national songs and fireworks
were also displayed.
The ceremony was attended by Prominent intellectual
Habibullah Bhutta, famous poet and intellectual Syed Tabish Alweri, former
Olympian Muteeullah Khan, DPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, DOC Chaudhry Amjad Bashir,
Assistant Commissioner city Rao Tasleem Akhter, Assistant Commissioner
headquarter Muhammad Tayyab, former president chamber of commerce Dr. Rana
Muhammad Tariq, EDO education Chaudhry Bashir Ahmad, students, parents,
teachers and a large number of sports lovers.

district peace committee finalized the arrangements at a meeting held at the
committee room of DCO Bahawalpur. District Coordination Officer
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar presided over the meeting. The meeting was
attended by DPO Bahawalpur Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Additional District Collector
Mrs. Nausheen Malik, DOC Chaudhry Amjad Bashir, Allama Riaz Ahmad Awaisi, Abdul
Razzaq Shaiq, Professor Muzaffar Ali Zafar, Hafiz Muhammad Younis, Syed Israr
Ali Shah, Meer Jamal, Sardar Saleem Khan Baloch, Nasir Mahmood kochi, Mufti
Iqbal, Ghulam Yaseen Siddiqi, Ansar Abbas Khawaja, Sahibzada Iqbal Abbasi,
members of peace committee, Assistant Commissioners of the district Bahawalpur,
Tehsil Municipal Officers and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.
The finalized program include:- lightening of all
government buildings, decorating and lightening of all public and private
places, holding of special meetings of peace committees at tehsil level and
organizing speech and essay writing competitions among the students to
highlight the various aspects of the teachings of the holy prophet Hazrat
Muhammad (PBUH).

Mahar while addressing the meeting directed Assistant Commissioners and other
officers to mobilize all available resources to celebrate the Eid
Meelad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious passion to pay homage to the holy prophet
(PBUH). He highly appreciated the constructive and positive role of peace
committees and Ulma Karam during Aashura Muharram.
District Police Officer Ashfaq Ahmad Khan assured the
meeting that adequate and decent arrangements would be ensured to regulate
traffic during the processions of Eid Meelad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
"All available resources would be put into place
to extend fool proof security cover to the processions of Eid Meelad-un-Nabi
(PBUH) in district Bahawalpur", DPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan maintained.
Members of district peace committee which include:-
Sahibzada Riaz Ahmad Awaisi, Abdul Razzaq Shaiq, Afzal Sabri, Professor
Muzaffar Ali Zafar, Mufti Iqbal, Hafiz Muhammad Younis and others are also
addressed the meeting.
