Interest free agriculture loans under the Chief Minister Punjab's Kisan Package would extend massive economic relief to the small peasants:Iqbal Channar

                BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that Rs. 100 billion interest free agriculture loans under the Chief Minister Punjab's Kisan Package would extend massive economic relief to the small peasants which would not only bring prosperity for the millions of peasants but it would also streamline the crucial agriculture sector on modern scientific lines. He made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest at a seminar regarding Chief Minister Kisan Package jointly organized by Directorate of Public Relations Government of the Punjab Bahawalpur, All Pakistan News Papers society (APNS) held at the Ghulam Muhammad Ghotivi Hall, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, on Saturday .

                The seminar was attended by MPA Fouzia Ayub Qureshi, Chairman Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Samiullah Chaudhry, Newly elected Mayor of Bahawalpur Aqeel Najam Hashmi, Director Public Relations Bahawalpur Rana Ajaz Mahmood, District Information Officer Bahawalpur Nauman Masood Khan, Senior Journalist A. Majeed Gill, Chief Editor Daily Sayadat Humayun Gulzar, Tabish Alweri, Dean Faculty of science Islamia University Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Asghar Hashmi, Dean Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Razia Musarrat, EDO agriculture Tanveer Ahmad, Chairman Union Council Maqbool Joiya, civil society and Media representatives, political and social leaders and a large number of people related to different walks of life.

                "Chief Minister Punjab's Kisan Package is a interest free agriculture loan project based on e-credit system which would deliver agriculture loan to the peasants through Android cell phones by mobilizing state of the art Information technology", Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Channar noted.

                He further said that Government has also devised a comprehensive mechanism policy framework to subsidize fertilizers, seeds, electricity for agricultural tube wells and pesticides to the peasants' community which is aimed to drastically reduce the cost of agriculture inputs which would extend economic relief to the millions of farmers across the Punjab province. He said that Punjab has the distinction of being the food basket for the whole country and this revolutionary Kisan Package is a positive and constructive intervention to boost the agriculture production.

                Chairman Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Samiullah Chaudhry said that the basic aim of Chief Minister Punjab's Kisan Package is to extend maximum economic relief to the farmers having agriculture lands less than 12.5 acres of land. However, He urged that it is imperative to accelerate the pace of scientific research which is vital to meet the current socio economic challenges in the global food market.

                Newly elected Mayor of Bahawalpur Aqeel Najam Hashmi said that interest free agricultural loan is an unprecedented policy initiative of the PMLN leadership which would boost our agriculture sector. He further said that PMLN Government has a glorious record of modernizing agriculture sector which is practically reflected in laying down massive and extensive farm to market road network from agriculture farms to the grain markets in the early 80's of the previous century.

                MPA Fouzia Ayub Qureshi said that Chief Minister Punjab attaches special significance to provide maximum socio economic facilities to the peasants' community which is practically reflected in his Rs. 100 billion interest free Chief Minister Kisan Package.

                Prominent intellectual and former MPA Tabish Alweri said that more than 70% of the population of Pakistan is engaged in agriculture sector and more than 70% of our exports are agro based. He further said that Chief Minister Punjab's revolutionary Kisan Package would ensure food security for the rest of the country.

                EDO agriculture Tanveer Ahmad gave a detailed briefing regarding Chief Minister Kisan Package 2016-17.

                Earlier, Director Public Relations Bahawalpur Rana Ajaz Mahmood in his welcoming note maintained that Chief Minister Kisan Package seminar is a joint venture of All Pakistan News Papers society and Information and Culture department Government of Punjab which is aimed to provide a collective platform for Media persons, intellectuals and public representatives to interact with each other to promote public awareness regarding Pro-Peasant initiative of the Government of Punjab.
