TDCP Cholistan Jeep rally would start
from Derawar fort on Feb 9th and would end on Feb 12th
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Arrangements
for 4 days TDCP Cholistan desert rally were finalized. The rally would start
from Derawar fort on Feb 9th and would end on Feb 12th.
The
high level meeting to finalize the arrangements was held at the conference room
of Commissioner Bahawalpur. Commissioner Bahawalpur presided over the meeting. The
meeting was attended by General Manager Operation TDCP Asjad Ghani, President
4x4 club Mehmood Majeed, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Ehtasham Anwar Mahaar,
District Police Officer Ashfiq Ahmad, Manager event TDCP Fayyaz Ahmad, while
Deputy commissioners of Bahawalnagar and Rahimyar Khan joined the meeting
through video link.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur directed all concerned officials of TDCP and administrative officers
of Divisional administration to give final shape to all the arrangements before
31st of January to hold this highly significant sports and cultural
event in a befitting manner.
While
briefing the meeting regarding traffic plan to conduct smooth flow of traffic
for the routs of desert rally and in the vicinity of the main event, DPO Bahawalnagar
maintained that special arrangements would be made by constructing speed
breakers at the requisite spots to avoid accidents, special spot would also be
earmarked for taking U turn at the main Derawar road, 4x4 ambulances to extend
immediate medical aid would also be deployed. He further said that special army
helicopter would also serve as a stand-by facility in this regard.
Deputy
Commissioner Bahawalpur proposed a special a code of conduct for the drivers of
the desert rally to protect the natural environment of Cholistan.
The
meeting was also apprised of that section 144 would be imposed on the rout of
desert rally while congested public places along the rally would cover though
barbed wire.
The
meeting was also briefed that at all the four major forts falling in the rout
of desert rally; Derawar Fort; Nawan Kot; Khair Garh for and Jam Garh fort
would be beautifully decorated to highlight the cultural glory of Cholistan.
The
rally would start from camel ground Derawar and would also end on that spot.
The facility to provide an introduction to the rout of the rally would be held
on 10 of February.
One
of the major features of TDCP rally would be the cultural night which would be
held on February 11th while prize distribution ceremony would be
staged on February 12th.
