division
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Advisor to Chief
Minister Punjab, MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar has urged upon the concerned
officials to ensure all essential facilities both for the consumers and the
contractors for the smooth running of cattle markets under the management of Cattle
Management Company in the three districts of Bahawalpur division. He issued
these directions while presiding over a high level meeting to review the
performance of Cattle Management Company held at the conference room of
Commissioner Bahawalpur.
The meeting was
attended by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Deputy Commissioner
Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, Additional Commissioner Saqib Ali Ateel, MD Cattle
Management Company Waqar Jafar, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Farooq and
other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
“Comprehensive mechanism should
be operationalized to extend all necessary facilities at the Cattle Markets which
include:- provision of fodder, water, mobile veterinary dispensaries and fool
proof security cover for the smooth running of cattle markets”, Advisor to
Chief Minsiter Punjab MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar directed.
The meeting was
briefed that solid measures have been undertaken against the illegal cattle
markets and stringent punitive legal action has been undertaken in this regard.
Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Afzal Khokhar further said that the
dynamic and visionary mission of the Chief Minister Punjab is focused at
extending modern and decent facilities to promote the live stock industry by
operationalizing cattle markets on modern scientific lines.
Later, Advisor
to Chief Minister Punjab MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar also inspected model bazar
Bahawalpur. He inspected various stalls of kitchen items, fruit, vegetables, meat,
chicken and other food stuff. He directed the concerned officials to ensure
high quality food items to the consumers at affordable prices.
“Model bazars have been
established to ensure high standard food stuff at the prices lower than the
market prices to extend economic relief to the consumers”, Advisor to Chief
Minister Punjab MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar Directed.
He also
directed the concerned officials to provide all possible facilities to the
business community for the smooth running of model bazars.

Minister Punjab has appointed MPA Kanji Ram as Convener of Minority Advisory
Council Punjab. MPA Kanji Ram would represent the Hindu community of the Punjab
province on the recommendation of Provincial Minister for Human rights and Minority
affairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu. Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu presented
the Appointment letter of convener-ship to MPA Kanji Ram at a special ceremony

seminar was organized to raise public awareness about the negative impacts of
various kinds of weeds which reduce the productivity quantum of crops. The
impacts of weeds had a serious repercussions on the agro economy therefore a
comprehensive campaign should be launched to eliminate the weeds to boost the
quantum of agricultural productivity which would not only strengthen the
agriculture sector but would also bring prosperity for millions of peasants in
the province. This was stated by the speakers while addressing a ceremony jointly
organized by Agriculture extension department Bahawalpur and University College
of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences held in connection with weeds
finishing campaign at Islamia University Bahawalpur, here, today. The ceremony
was presided over by Principal Agriculture College Professor Dr. Muzzam Jameel.
The seminar was also addressed by Deputy Director Agriculture extension Mian Manzoor
Ahmad, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Dr. Muhammad Naeem Chaudhry, Dr. Muhammad Latif, Dr.

projects to provide state of the art socio physical infra-structure in the far
flung areas of Cholistan during the current fiscal year 2016-17. This was
stated during a high level meeting to review the performance of Cholistan
Development Authority’s various development schemes held at the conference room
of Commissioner Bahawalpur.

Muhammad Iqbal Channar presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, MNA Begum and Member Standing committee for Information

of the Cholistan Development Authority and other officers and officials of the
concerned departments.

said that to bring the cholistani people into the socio economic main stream government
was fully determined to mobilize all available resources.
“The government
of Punjab’s commitment to provide comfortable and decent socio economic cover
is practically reflected by planning to allot state land to the cholistani
people and the scrutiny process in this regard has been completed through
transparent based mechanism”, Chairman Cholistan Development Authority &

The meeting was
further briefed that the case of CDA employees cooperative housing society and
transferring 50 new primary schools under the administrative supervision of
education directorate of CDA and Punjab education foundation have been referred
to their respective departments.
