Punjab Government has decided to ope rationalize Kidney transplant
facility at Kidney center Bahwalpur: Khawaja Salman Rafiq
BAHAWALPUR(PR) Provincial
Minister Specialized Health Care and medical education Khawaja Salman Rafiq has
said that Punjab Government has decided to ope rationalize Kidney transplant
facility at Kidney center Bahwalpur which is aimed to extend state of the art
health facilities to the people of Southern Punjab. This project is a practical
reflection of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to provide modern
medical cover to the people of far flung areas. He made these remarks during a
surprise visit at Kidney Center Bahawal Victoria Hospital. He was accompanied
by Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja, Commissioner Bahawalpur
Saqib Zafar, Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor. Dr. Ajlal haider
Rizvi and Medical Superintendent Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr. Rao Javed Akhter.
“Kidney Center at Bahawal Victoria Hospital has been established by spending millions
of Rs. Where dialysis facilities along with medical treatment would provide decent
health cover to the patients”, Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq noted.
Provincial
Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq further said that up gradation of cardiac centre
stands as the top most priority of the Punjab Government to provide the best
medical cover to the patients of Bahawalpur region.
During
his visit the Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq inspected various
departments which include: - Emergency block, Medical Center and Cardiac Center.
He directed Medical Superintendent Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr. Rao Javed
Akhter to under-take special measures to maintain the requisite temperature at
the medical stores to ensure the quality of medicines for better treatment of
the patients. Provincial Minister inquired after the patients admitted at
various wards. He inquired about the quality of medical facilities from the
patients.
Provincial
Minister maintained that Chief Minister Punjab’s health vision stand focused to
provide best medical cover by allocating billions of funds to modernize the
health system in the Punjab province. He also directed Medical Superintendent
Bahawal Victoria Hospital to dispose of medical waste by adopting safe methods.

Control Center at District Civil Defense office Bahawalpur would be streamlined
on modern scientific lines to upgrade the operational capability of Civil
Defense department. He made these remarks during a visit of District Civil Defense
Office, Bahawalpur.
Civil
Defense Officer Ms Fareeha Jafar briefed in detail the various activities under-taken
by Civil Defence office and its achievements by sharpen the vigil by activating
the Civil Defense volunteers in Bahawalpur District. Ms Fareeha Jafar further
said that re-organization of Civil Defense organization was under-way and its
setup would be expanded at tehsil level to provide Civil Defense cover at the
grass root level.

Chief Warden Jam Sohail Majeed, Additional Chief Warden Alhaj Ahmad Hassan
Malik, Divisional Wardens: Javed Akhter, Ataaullah Qureshi and a large number
of Civil Defense volunteers welcomed the Deputy Commissioner on his arrival at
the Civil Defense Office.

house enumeration campaign in District Bahawalpur

Commissioner Bahawalpur, Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal inaugurated census and
house enumeration campaign in District Bahawalpur Deputy
Commissioner visited a house and personally wrote down the requisite
particulars of the residents of the house at Model Town “C”, Bahawalpur.
Assistant Commissioner City, Rao Tasleem Akhter, Chief statistical officer Riaz
Ahmad and members of census and house enumerating team were also present on
this occasion.
Deputy
Commissioner Rana Saleem Afzal while speaking on the occasion maintained that the
practical participation of the citizens is vital to ensure the fixed targets of
census and house enumeration campaign.
“Proper
public policy formulation is linked with the accurate particulars pertaining to
house counts and census process in a modern democratic polity”, Deputy
Commissioner Rana Saleem Afzal noted.
He
further said that a person may face a fine to the tune of Rs. 50 thousand along
with imprisonment for providing inaccurate and wrong information during the
census and house counting process.

Commissioner Bahawalpur, Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal inaugurated tree plantation
campaign by planting conocarpus plant at Dera Bakha, District Bahawalpur.
At
the inaugural ceremony around one thousand saplings were planted by officers
and officials of various departments and students of different schools to
participate in the green Pakistan program.
Deputy
Commissioner maintained that tree plantation was vital both to mitigate the
repercussions of environmental pollution and to protect eco system for
maintaining decent and comfortable and healthy environment.
He
further said that plants also enhance the aesthetic profile of the landscape which
warrants maximum active participation both of the forest and other government
departments by ensuring the participation of various segments of society.
Divisional
Forest Officer Shahid Hameed informed the DC that a target to plant around 4
lac saplings and plants during the annual spring tree plantation campaign 2017
in District Bahawalpur.
