Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar at GSCWU
BAHAWALPUR(PR)The
Health Society, Department of Zoology organized “Pink Ribbon Youth Awareness
Program” on 25th October, 2017 at Cheema Hall, The Government Sadiq
College Women University, Bahawalpur in collaboration with Pink Ribbons, HEC
and BINO. Purpose of lecture was to introduce the students and staff of
university to understand the importance of self-examination and timely checkup.
The Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Afza was the chief guest of this
event.
On this Occasion the program started
with the name of Allah and Holy Prophet (SAW). Lectures were delivered by Dr.
Kokab Jabeen and Dr. Rubina Ali from Bahawalpur Institute of Nuclear Medicines
& Oncology (BINO). They elaborated the process of self-examination and made
the students aware of how to identify any abnormal projection. On this
occasion, Dr. Kokab Jabeen described cancer, its causes, screening and a brief
introduction of BINO hospital Bahawalpur. Dr Rubina Ali explained breast cancer
specifically and addressed the different aspects. The students actively
participated and asked relevant and important questions about Breast Cancer
myths and Dr. Rubina Ali clearly gave satisfactory answers to them. On this
occasion the Worthy Vice Chancellor presents the shields of honor to
distinguished guests.
On this occasion a walk was organized
which was lead by the Worth Vice Chancellor of GSCWU, Prof. Dr. Talat Afza. All
the faculty members and students of the university participated actively in
walk and all activities associated with Pink Ribbon Awareness Program.
