Lahore (by Our Correspondent ) Provincial Minister for Mines & Minerals
Ch. Sher Ali Khan has said that in the light of the direction of Chief Minister
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab government is endeavoring for enhancing overall
national production through increasing mineral resources. He said that all out
resources and facilities are being provided to the foreign investors for
motivating and exploring mineral resources
Ch. Sher Ali said that all
out resources are being utilized for resource mapping of mines, geo data base
development, provision of physical infrastructure, construction of roads and
provision of electricity and other facilities. He said that the reserves of 300
mega ton iron ore has been discovered at Kala Bagh and Punjab government is
working speedily on the roadmap with the cooperation of private sector for
benefiting these precious mineral reserves.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting for
reviewing promotion of investment and increasing mineral resources, today.
Secretary Punjab Mineral Development Corporation ZubairKharal, Chief Inspector
of Mines, Engineer Siddique Ch. Director Research, Director Resource Mapping
and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Ch. Sher Ali said that after
the discovery of vast reserves of iron ore at Chiniot-Rajwa, the work on
exploration of mineral reserves has been accelerated in other places. He said
that the geophysical survey of 16000 square meter area is at final stages in
Chiniot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore and Nankana Sahib. He said that 685 diploma
holder and experts, 640 mines surveyors and 208 mining engineers are making
efforts for exploring new minerals throughout the province. He said that best
environment and incentives are being provided to private sector for investment
in mineral sector.
