Meeting of Steering Committee of Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drugs Authority
LAHORE(PR)A meeting of Steering Committee of Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drugs Authority (PAFDA) was held here in Civil Secretariat with Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja in the chair. The meeting thrashed out various proposals formulated to establish a new state-of-the-art food testing laboratory at Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore and up-gradation of Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) to the most modern standard in accordance with the world’s top most drug testing laboratories. The meeting decided to introduce “Punjab Fertilizer Control Act 2016” to abolish the business of adulterated fertilizer and spurious pesticides. The meeting was told that the government of Punjab has released a grant of Rs.186 million for land acquisition in Thokar Niaz Baig while the scientific and logistic equipments in the proposed new food testing laboratory will be installed till January 2017. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab directed the concerned authorities to accomplish the recruitment of 87 new scientists and other technical human resource not later than September 15, this year. Secretary Food Punjab Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed Khan, Secretary Law Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Najmi, Secretary Agriculture Muhammad Mahmood, Secretary Specialized Health & Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan,  Member Health P&D Board Punjab Dr. Shabana Haider, Member Agriculture P&D Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Additional Secretary Food Dr. Muhammad Bilal and Additional Secretary (Welfare) Mudassar Riaz Malik attended the meeting. 
DG Parks & Horticulture Authority Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar has underlined the need to maximize the participation of private sector to boost the Endeavours of Parks & Horticulture beautification of Bahawalpur city

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Director General Parks & Horticulture Authority Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar has underlined the need to maximize the participation of private sector to boost the Endeavours of Parks & Horticulture Authority of beautification of the Bahawalpur city. He issued these directions to the officers of the Parks & Horticulture Authority during a visit to the recently established Park for special children.

                        "National, Multinational, local companies, private institutions and philanthropists should be engaged to play their role to accelerate the pace of beautification process of Parks & Horticulture Authority in this city", he underlined.

                        He directed Director Admin Parks & Horticulture Authority to focus his energies to interact with the private institutions and philanthropic to get them engaged in their ongoing projects to evolve a "Collective ownership of private public engagement" of making the city more green full, shady, attractive and aesthetics he noted.

                        Director General provided a mechanism for engaging the private sector by directing to make legal agreement with all the interested private sector individuals and institutions in this regard.  "Those parks, medians and green belts which have been triangular parks which have been designated by the Director General Parks & Horticulture Authority :- Include Shahdra Park Model town B, Madere Millat Park commercial area satellite town, Kashmir park near GPO , Lachi peer park model town C, triangular plot opposite Dubai chowk. Similarly a number of green belts and roads have also been included public private Endeavour:- Circular road, Farid Gate to Chowk Fowara, Fowara Chowk to Millad Chowk, Millad Chowk to Saraiki Chowk, Saraiki Chowk to Welcome Chowk, Welcome Chowk to Railway Station, Saraiki Chowk to Kalma Chowk to Fateh Chowk, Fowara Chowk to Dubai Chowk, Dubai Chowk to Daewoo Terminal, DC Chowk to Saddar Pully, Saddar Pully to One unit Chowk, One Unit Chowk to Technology College Chowk, Library Chowk to Kali Pully and outer walls of  Bahawalpur Zoo", DCO maintained.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Seventy two police Officers have been appointed to accelerate the police investigating process by adopting modern and scientific methods in Bahawalpur range. Moreover, Punjab Forensic service agencie's:- active; effective and tangible interaction with the investigating officers have been further cemented to bring the investigating process on "fast track":- This would expedite the investigating process of heinous and crimes.

          This was maintained by Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehsan Sadiq Police range Bahawalpur during a high-level meeting which was attended by District public prosecutor Imtiaz Ahmad Cheema and experts of forensic science agency here today.

          "Close; vigorous and result oriented mutual interactions between forensic science agency and other relevant institutions is vital to modernize the investigation process to ensure in-expensive; speedy and fair criminal justice to the complainants", RPO Dr. Ehsan Sadiq maintained.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)During the ongoing crack-down against the offenders of price control act and pure food ordinance Assistant Commissioner Hasilpur Abdul Rauf Maher has imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 1 Lakh and 75 thousand upon different Petrol dealers on the offence of overcharging in Hasilpur tehsil. Besides, 15 eateries which include: - Restaurants, Bakers and sweet Shops were also raided and a fine to the tune of Rs. 36 thousand was imposed upon the offenders for violating the pure food ordinance.

          "Under the directions of DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar crack-down against the offenders of pure food ordinance and price control act to check the violation of these laws to ensure pure, hygienic and high quality food stuff to the consumers in tehsil Hasilpur", Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rauf Maher said.
