Bahawalpur ( PR) The Higher Education Commission’s National Agricultural Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) has praised progress and development in academia and research at College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, the Islamia University under leadership of Prof Dr Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. The delegation of NAEAC recently visited the University Agriculture College to observe performance of newly established departments of Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Breeding and Genetics and Food Sciences and Technology. Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has expressed the heartiest satisfaction on behalf
of the people of Bahawalpur region over the successful cardiac surgery of Prime
Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. A special prayer ceremony was held at his
residence to pray for the speedy recovery of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif. The participants of the ceremony prayed to the almighty Allah for the
well being and quick recovery of the Prime Minister.
While addressing the praying
ceremony Mr. Channer maintained that the whole nation is praying for their
leader's recovery from illness and hoped that the ailing Prime Minister after
successful cardiac operation would get fully recover very soon and would
continue to lead the nation's march towards peace; progress and prosperity.

Bahawalpur Dr. Ehsan Sadiq has maintained that a vigorous; sustained and
tangible campaign has been launched to operationlize the modern concept of
community policing by undertaking modern and scientific initiatives which
include:- Appointing 72 Victim Response officers who have resolved more than 16
thousand cases of minor crimes; establishing "hot-line" to extend
internet access to the citizens to get their FIRs registered and appointing 72
model investigation officers to clear the back log of under investigation cases
of minor criminal offences within next month.
He made these remarks during a media
briefing held at his conference room here today.
"72 Victim Response Officers
were tasked to adopt "4R policing model": - which include: - Receive;
Response; Register and Resolve. Complaints of crimes of minor nature by
establishing a mechanism of facilitation through the mutual consent of the
contestant parties and the representatives of the respective community",
Regional Police Officer maintained.
Regional Police Officer further
explained the achievements of victim response officers to manage to resolve
more than 16 thousand cases of minor nature which include:- Hurt; Theft; Family
disputes; Scuffles and dispute regarding ownership; disputes of documents
regarding to property ownership and monetary issues. "This victim response
mechanism is a policy response anti-thesis to the decadent; damaging and
destructive medieval mindset of victimizing the opponents: - (DDDMMVO) cultural
virus", RPO noted. This new initiative has cultivated swiftly growing new
normative phenomena of mitigating "Trust Deficit" between police and
the citizens and is helping in evolving a healthy; close and cordial
interaction between police and the citizens which is the cardinal operational
conceptual guiding principle of community policing, RPO DR. Ehsan Sadiq
maintained.
Regional Police Officer Dr. Ehsan
Sadiq in response to a question maintained that the hot line established at
Regional Police Office has further extended direct access to the residents of 3
districts of Bahawalpur who may both lodge their complaints and get their FIRs
registered by telephonic calls and internet service. This facility is available
round the clock which has received more than one thousand complaints so far.
"As many as 11 thousand
complaints were lodged at the complaint cell established at Regional Police
Office through normal channels which were promptly resolved through transparent
and purely on merit basis which saved both precious time and financial spending
of the complainants who earlier used to lodge these complaints and their
grievances at higher level", RPO said. He maintained that this is yet
another positive and encouraging practical manifestation of people's growing
confidence in Police in Bahawalpur region. " A thorough keen and
microscopic analysis of these complaints was launched which has identified as
many as 200 police officials whose laxity in performing their duties generated
major quantum of the bulk of the 11 thousand complaints which brought
discomfort and inconvenience to the citizens and earned bad reputations for the
police department", RPO noted.
He further revealed that in the light
of recommendation of the inquiries conducted in this regard these 200 officers
would be sacked during the Holy Month of RAMZAN. RPO in response to yet another
question by the Media said that newly appointed 72 model investigators have
commenced their fast track investigating process to finalize the pending
investigation of minor criminal cases within a stipulated period of one month
in all the police stations of Bahawalpur region.
Regional Police Officer further said
that a vigorous campaign has also been launched to check the selling of
"Kala Pather" and "Acid" in the market which both has also
reduced incidents of suicides through acid in Bahawalpur region. Regional
Police Officer further noted that a public awareness campaign is also underway
to sensitize the parents to discourage their children to get involve in one
wheeling and reckless driving which claimed hundreds of precious lives during
the last year.
Regional Police Officer appreciated
the courageous and highly professional role of local media whose strong and
unflinching commitment to raise public awareness regarding protection of human
rights and prompting healthy and constructive socio cultural norms. Later, the

Population Welfare department in connection with Population Cricket Tournament.
This was organized at the local Cricket Stadium. The match played between
Baddar Shair Eleven and Baddar Shair Green cricket teams. The match was won by
Baddar Shair Green team by 3 runs.

of as many as 28 new building of police stations is underway which would get
completed within next two years.
He made these remarks during a meeting briefing which was
held in his office her today.
Regional police officer further said that foolproof security
arrangements have been made to extend security cover to as many as 576
educational institutions in Bahawalpur region. He further maintained that
boundary wall of total radius 11Km have already been constructed with 16 watch
towers at Bagadadul Jadeed campus of Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
“As many as 6 hundred proclaimed offenders have also
been arrested who were a potential threat to the peace and tranquility of
society”, RPO maintained.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur has directed revenue officers to
dispose of the pending cases of revenue on fast track basis to provide speedy
and inexpensive justice to the people pertaining to under trial revenue cases
of land disputes and issues regarding revenue matters.
He issued these directions during a Video link conference
with all DCOS and relevant revenue officers of Bahawalpur.
The meeting was attended by District Coordination Officer
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar, Additional Commissioner Coordination Saqib
Ali Ateel, District Coordination Officer Rahim Yar Khan Cap. (R) Zafar Mehmood,
District Coordination Officer Bahawalnagar Syed Iqbal Haider include Additional
District collectors and Assistant commissioner of all Tehsils.
The meeting was apprised of that during the first 5 months of
the current year as many as 3531 cases of mutation of land were decided by the
concerned officers. Besides, as many as 2217 cases of distribution the rights
of the occupants of land were also resolve during this period.
While addressing the meeting Commissioner Bahawalpur
called upon the concerned officers of department of Record Management
Information System and relevant revenue officers of the districts to focus
their energies to resolve the issues regarding correction of revenue record. He
further emphasized to expedite the efforts by the revenue officers to achieve
the recovery targets of all out-standings within the stipulated period fixed
for the recovery of these dues to establish a solid and vibrant finance base.
He warned at strict action would be initiated against the revenue officers who
would get fail to attain 100 percent recovery with the outstanding due.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)A mock exercise to evaluate the flood fighting arrangements was
conducted at the Empress Bridge of river Satluj yesterday in Bahawalpur
District. The all relevant departments include in security institutions Elite
force, police, Civil defense, Rescue 1122 and other departments participated in
the mock exercise.
ADC Imrana Ajmal presided over the proceedings of the
mock exercise. ADC maintained that under the directions of Punjab Disaster
managements Authority the second mock exercise to evaluate flood fighting
managements. One was held in April 2016 and the second on June 2016. He
expressed the satisfaction over the prompt and effective response of all
departments regarding the duty assigned to them in the flood fighting
management for district Bahawalpur.
