BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar has called upon health officials and all concerned quarters to maximize their efforts to ensure administering polio drops to every child to attain hundred percent polio drop coverage in Bahawalpur division. He issued these directions while presiding over a high level meeting to review the achievements of polio vaccination campaign held in his conference room.

The meeting was attended by Chairman southern punjab task force committee for anti-adulteration of medicine MPA Qazi Adnan Farid; DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar; EDO health Dr. Shahid Khaliq; Additional Commissioner Saqib Ali Ateel; health officials and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.

Commissioner was briefed by health officials that a close and effective coordination and interaction between polio teams and security officials provided security cover to the polio teams which enabled them to reach far-flung areas to administer polio drops to children under age 5. They achieved their envisaged targets to reach every child in Bahawalpur division, they claimed.

While addressing the meeting Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar directed health officials to pay special attention to have state of the art cold chain to preserve the quality of vaccine. He further directed security officials to extend fool proof security cover to the polio teams.

BAHAWALPUR(By our Staff Reporter)Provincial Minister for Co-Operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has directed concerned officials to ensure quality food stuff at concessionary rates to the consumers at Ramzan Bazars. He made these remarks during a surprise visit of Ramzan Bazar at Melay wali gali and model bazar, yesterday .

"Government of Punjab" concessionary price regime of specially providing flour and sugar is a vital component to extend economic relief at round 3 thousand Ramzan Bazars throughout the province", he noted.

Minister inspected various stalls of kitchen items; fruits and vegetables; soft drinks and meat. He checked the quality; weight and concessionary price rates at these stalls. Minister directed to live-stock officials to make special arrangements to ensure the quality of meat and chicken at Ramzan Bazar.

BAHAWALPUR(By our Staff Reporter)District Co-Ordination Officer Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has directed all Assistant Commissioners to personally monitor the daily auctions of vegetables and fruits at fruits and vegetable markets in Bahawalpur district to ensure smooth supply chain of fruits and vegetables at affordable prices to the consumers during the holy month of Ramzan. He issued these directions during a surprise visit of Ramzan Bazar at railway station and mealy wali gali, yesterday.

"Ramzan Bazars and model bazars are major facilities to ensure high quality food stuff at concessionary rates and Punjab government attaches special significance to fully ensure the implementation of price regime at these facilities", He noted. He said therefore all Government officials should play their role with missionary zeal to make these Ramzan Bazars real success resources at their disposal.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Police Officer Sarfraz Ahmad Falki has maintained that a special contingent of 822 police officers and officials would extend security cover to as many as 452 Masjids and Imam Bargaahs; 12 Ramzan Bazars and 12 Madni Dasterkhawans during the holy month of Ramzan in district Bahawalpur. Besides, to extend fool proof security cover all Masjids; Imam Bargaahs and religious places have been placed into 3 separate categories and security arrangements have been sub divided into sectors and sub sectors: - for effective security cover and close monitoring of security arrangements. He made these remarks while giving briefing to a high level meeting held at his office.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister Co-Operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer; Chairman task force for anti-adulteration of medicine MPA Qazi Adnan Farid; MNAs: - Sabeeha Nazeer and Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti; MPAs: - kazim Peerzada; Mian Shoaib Awaisi and Hasina Naaz.

DPO Sarfraz Ahmad Falki said that under the direction of Punjab Government comprehensive and fool proof security arrangements have been put into place to protect religious places; Ramzan Bazars and Madni Dasterkhawans; Sensitive Places; important buildings and bus stands in the district. All SHOs and beat officers have been entrusted with special duties to personally check and ensure the SOP of security arrangements for both religious places and important installations.

"All visitors to religious places would be thoroughly checked by metal detector with the close collaborations of management of these religious places" Mr. Sarfraz Falki said.

He further maintained that all SHOs have been instructed to maximize their interaction with members of peace committees, Masjid's committees and volunteers to seek their practical collaboration to beef up of security covers for these religious places.

This was stated by Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Asif Rahim Channer, yesterday. Earlier, rescue 1122 held a flag march led by divisional emergency officer Malik Asif Rahim Channer.
