BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Dr.
Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar raided at a bricks kiln during a surprise visit of
Khairpur Tamewaly. During raid 3 children were found engaged in child labour at
Rehmani Bricks kiln. DCO immediately sealed this bricks kiln and directed SHO
of the concerned area to get an FIR register against the owner of the bricks
kiln. DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has said that Government is fully committed
to wipe out the menace of enforced child labour at bricks kiln and therefore
the offenders of Government policy regarding prohibition of child labour would
be dealt with strictly. He further said that Punjab Government has formulated
and is strictly implementing a policy framework to ensure the enrolment of
children of labourer of bricks kiln. Besides, DCO has also directed Assistant
Commissioner Khair Pur Tamewaly to submit his explanation regarding violation
of Government policy regarding child labour at the bricks kiln in his
jurisdiction.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)MNA Sabeeha Nazeer has said that
Government of Punjab initiative to functionalize as many as 300 Ramzan Bazars
in 36 districts of province which is a practical reflection of Government's
policy to extend economic relief to the consumers during the holy month of
Ramzan. She made these remarks in a statement issued yesterday.

directed all Assistant Commissioners to launch a crack down to inspect all ware
houses and cold storages to mitigate the malpractice of hoarding which leads to
artificial price hike which violates the economic rights of the consumers.
Therefore those who were found involved in hoarding should be dealt with
strictly to channelize smooth supply of food stuff to the consumers at
affordable price during the holy month of Ramzan in district Bahawalpur.
He issued these directions to the
Assistant Commissioners and all concerned officials while presiding over a
review meeting regarding price control at his office, here, today.
During the meeting DCO was briefed
that price control magistrates imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 81 thousand in
different tehsils of the district which include:- Rs. 24 thousand in Bahawalpur
city; Rs. 7500 in tehsil Sadar Bahawalpur; Rs. 13 thousand in tehsil Yazman and
Rs. 8500 in tehsil Khairpur Tamewaly.
DCO directed EDO health officials to
maximize the pace of health department's ongoing drive to check the both the
manufacturing and selling of sub standard and unhygienic food stuff at hotels;
bakers and other eateries.

Saqab Zafar has said that sports and extracurricular activities play vital role
in shaping healthy and balanced personalities of the Youth. Therefore,
Government has taken initiatives to promote the culture of sports activities to
enable the Youth to participate in these constructive and Character building
healthy engagements.
He
made these remarks while given away cash prize of Rs. 10 thousand to a wrestler
belonging to Sadaqabad who got first position in wrestling competition in
Qaud-i-Azam games. Divisional Sports Officer, Syed Mateen Ahmed briefed the
commissioner that Reseller Abdul-Rehman who got first position in wrestling
competition in 74-Kg category of Qaud-i-Azam games, based he also got gold
medal by scoring first position in the Punjab Province in National Championship
which was held this year at Gujranwala. Commissioner
Bahawalpur highly appreciated the outstanding performance of Abdul Rehman who
earned glory and grace for Bahawalpur Division by his brilliant performance in
wrestling competition.

Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer paid a surprise visit at of Ramzan Bazar at
Railway road Bahawalpur city, yesterday. During his visit, Provincial
Minister visit various stalls of Vegetables, Fruits, Kitchen items, meat, Chicken
and soft drinks. He inspected both the quality of the Foodstuff and price lists
of concessionary rates.
“Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad
Shahbaz Sharif attaches special significance to ensure provision of high
quality of Foodstuff at concessionary rates at these Ramzan Bazars. Therefore,
all concerned officials should play their role with vigor and acute sense of
duty to maximize the quantum of relief to the consumers”, he underlined.
Provincial Minister Channer directed
Live Stock officials to make special arrangements to preserve the quality of
Meat and Chicken keeping in view the high temperature. Minister mixed up the
consumers and got their feedback about the rates and quality of the essential
items at these Ramzan Bazars. The consumers thank Punjab Government for
providing economic relief through these Ramzan Bazars.

further maintained the consumer council was fully vigilant to ensure the
quality services rendered to the Consumers and it was mobilizing all available
