The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved Rs. 3191.447 million budget for the fiscal year 2016-17
Bahawalpur (PR)The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved Rs. 3191.447 million budget for the fiscal year 2016-17. The budget focuses on fiscal discipline ensuring quality research, development and services reducing financial deficit significantly. The budget was approved in the Finance and Planning Committee meeting at Abbasia Campus. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor chaired the meeting. Other committee members included Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio, Chairman Department of Saraiki, Dr. Shoaib Anwar, Additional Secretary, representative, Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab, Muhammad Rashid Zahoor, Section Officer, representative, Secretary Finance Department Punjab Government and Fakhar Bashir, Treasurer. The committee has estimated Rs.2977.205 million as income from various sources with Rs. 214 million deficit while has been reduced as compare to previous years Rs. 343 million. Total development budget has been estimated as Rs. 965.801 million. Budget deficit will be met through good financial management, austerity measures and grants received from the federal and provincial governments.
