BETWEEN THE ET&NC DEPARTMENT AND CCPO LAHORE TO VERIFY INFORMATION AGAINST
ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES
LAHORE(PR)Special
Monitoring Unit (Law & order) at the instructions of the Chief Minister is
steering a strategic reform which includes collaboration between the Excise,
Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NC) and Capital City Police
Office (CCPO Office). Senior member Special Monitoring Unit (Law & Order),
Salman Sufi said that SMU (Law & Order) is working on addressing these
loopholes that allow miscreants to escape any legal repercussions for tax
evasion, terrorism and other illegal activities.
The
ET&NC for the first time has agreed to share valuable data, which includes
but is not limited to names, numbers and addresses of property owners with
officials from the Police Department in real time. The Secretary ET&NC
department, Ahmad Balal said that with the establishment of this cooperation
both the departments will benefit immensely.Teams of both departments will be
setup for joint operations and data sharing and both
departments will be able to share real time data pre-and post-verification
operations. This information will be integral to the Police Department who will
physically visit different properties to verify the details provided. Furthermore,
the ET&NC Department will benefit as any discrepancies in their database
including details about unregistered tenants who evade taxes can be flagged and
updated accordingly.
Provincial Development Working Party approved development scheme of Health Sector
LAHORE(PR)The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party
approved development scheme of Health Sector with an estimated cost of Rs. 410.886
million.
The scheme was approved in the 8th meeting of Provincial
Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over
by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan. Secretary P&DD Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Members
of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and
other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also
attended the meeting. According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved
development scheme included Construction of 100 Bedded Mian Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif General Hospital, Multan. (Phase-I) at the cost of Rs. 410.886 million.
Consultation for employment opportunities to disabled persons
LAHORE(PR)Dr.
Khalid Jamil also known as Big Brother met Director General Social Welfare Waheed
Akhtar Ansari yesterday. The purpose of the meeting was consultation with
regard to provision of employment opportunities to disabled persons and the
future policy of Punjab government is this regard. Waheed Akhtar Ansari told
Dr. Khalid Jamil that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking keen
interest in the rehabilitation of disabled persons. He said that a
comprehensive policy is being evolved for disabled persons at provincial level
on the pattern of developed countries. He said that jobs are being ensured for handicapped
persons through partnership with different NGOs and private institutions. He
said that free training is being imparted to handicapped persons at TEVTA and
vocational training centers. DG Social Welfare appreciated the services of Big
Brother for disabled persons and lauded his humanitarian spirit. He said that
under three percent quota, more than 3000 jobs have been provided to disabled
persons in different government departments this year. He said that soft jobs
are also being arranged for handicapped persons in private institutions and
markets. DG Social Welfare further said that a grand sports event is being organized
for disabled persons on Independence Day. Dr. Khalid Jamil appreciated the
efforts of Punjab government and assured all out cooperation to Social Welfare
Department for the rehabilitation of disabled persons.
SECRETARY WOMEN
DEVELOPMENT PAYS SURPRISE VISIT TO WORKING WOMEN HOSTELS
LAHORE(PR) Secretary Women Development
Bushra Iman has said that the purpose of setting up working women hostels is to
provide quality residential facilities to women.
She was speaking during her surprise
visit to working women hostels at Shamsabad and Khana Roads, today. Director
Tahir Ali also accompanied her. Provincial Secretary reviewed in detail
administrative affairs and the facilities available in the hostels and
expressed her satisfaction over the overall situation. She however directed
that sanitary conditions in the hostels should be further improved. She also
inquired from the women staying at the hostels about their problems. Bushra
Iman said that repair and renovation work of the hostel buildings will soon be
started. She said that funds have been provided in the budget for repair and
rehabilitation of ten working women hostels. She said that inspection and
monitoring of working women hostels is continuing regularly. Provincial
Secretary further said that hostels are being set up for working women across the
province under a phased programme and they are being provided quality
facilities at nominal charges.

Company has undertaken a comprehensive and effective drive for the spray of
anti-Congo virus at as many as 10 cattle markets in Bahawalpur division which
include:- Shaikh Wahan, Sadiq Abad, Khan Bela, Zahir Peer, Liaquat Pur, Chak
Madarsa, Shahbaz Wala, Chishtian, Bahawalnagar and Hasilpur. This was briefed
in a high level meeting of officials of Cattle Market Management Company and
officials of the administration at the conference room of Commissioner
Bahawalpur.

Cattle Market Management Company and Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib
Zafar presided over the meeting. The meeting was briefed in details about
various preventive measures to check the prevalence by the concerned officials
of the Cattle Market Management Company with the collaboration of department of
Live Stock.
"Special teams of
department of Live Stock would be stationed at all the Cattle Markets to ensure
high safety measures to have a Congo Virus free environment on the eve of
Eid-ul-Azha in all the Cattle Markets in Bahawalpur division", Chairman
Board of Directors Cattle Market Management Company and Commissioner Bahawalpur
Division Saqib Zafar directed both the concerned officials of Live Stock and Cattle
Market Management Company to sharpen their vigil by mobilizing all available
resources to ensure a Congo virus free atmosphere in all the cattle markets in
the 3 districts:- Bahawalpur district, Bahawalnagar district and Rahim Yar Khan
district in Bahawalpur division.
The meeting was attended by
Managing Director Cattle Market Management Company and board member Dr. Umer
Farooq, Additional Commissioner coordination Saqib Ali Ateel and other officers
and officials of the concerned departments.
Punjab Government plans to spend more than 25 billion of rupees to expand and modernize road network infrastructure:Iqbal Channer
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for
Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Punjab Government plans
to spend more than 25 billion of rupees to expand and modernize road network
infrastructure in 36 districts of the Punjab province. He made these remarks
while laying the foundation stone of 9.1 Kilometer long Farm to Market road
project which would be completed by spending 880 million rupees.
"Chief Minister Punjab's
vision to modernize Punjab's road network is aimed to meet the future
requirements to ensure quick and effective road connectivity which would boost
pace of socio economic development in the province", Minister Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer noted.

Channer said that 3 years medium term development framework 25 billion rupees
proposed allocation include:- Rupees 7 billion and 900 million for the current
year; Rupees 8 billion for the fiscal year 2017-18 and rupees 9 billion for the
fiscal year 2018-19.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has maintained that Government was fully
committed to extend maximum socio economic assistance by providing job
opportunities both at public and private institutions in-line with the
specially approved quota for special persons in district Bahawalpur. He made
these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting regarding the review of
various redressal measures for rehabilitating the special persons here at his
committee room yesterday.
District Coordination Officer
directed the concerned officials to pay special attention to ensure job
opportunities for special persons in private departments and institutions as
per the 3 percent quota reserved for the special persons.
"Three translators would
also be appointed at a special cell at the designated places which would help
the special persons", DCO maintained.
DCO further said that Punjab
social protection authority would be requested to extend financial assistance
to the special persons holding Khidmat cards.
"Special training
programs have also been devised to impart technical training to the special
persons while Federal government would also be requested to include special
persons in its internship program", DCO said.
Squash competition
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Under sixteen and nineteen Squash
competition were held in connection with Independence Day celebrations at dring
stadium on Monday. Dr. Mughees Ameen was the Chief Guest. He gave away prizes
among the winner of various Squash events.
DCO has Imposed section 144
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Administrator and District
Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has banned the entry
of unconcerned persons under section 144 within the radius of 100 meters of
examination centers of First Annual B.E.M.S, B.H.M.S and Pharma D first
examination of Islamia University Bahawalpur. This order has come into effect
immediately within the revenue jurisdictions of district Bahawalpur.
