6th International Conference on Innovative Computing Technology
BAHAWALPUR (PR)The 6th International Conference on Innovative Computing Technology is being held during 19-21 September, 2016 at Islamabad. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is organizing the conference in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Digital Information Research Foundation and IEEE UK and Ireland Section. Engineer Mian Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman, Minister of State will be the chief guest and Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan will also present on this occasion.  More than 100 delegates including 27 foreign experts will attend the three day conference.
Punjab Government has decided to distribute  land among the  selected permanent Cholistani residents in the first phase of land allotment:Iqbal Channer

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative and Chairman, Cholistan Development Authority, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Punjab Government has decided to distribute a total area of 2 lakh and 36 thousand acres of land among the 13 thousand and 4 hundred selected permanent Cholistani residents in the first phase of land allotment in the 3 districts of Bahawalpur Division. He made these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting regarding allotment of Cholistani land, held at the conference room of Commissioner Bahawalpur. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary irrigation and MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja, Director CDA Mian Imam Bukhsh, CO Mushtaq Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
"Allotment of Cholistani land is a practical manifestation of Chief Minister Punjab's vision of maximizing the socio economic empowerment of the Cholistani people by allotting 12.5 acres of land to the peasants possessing less than 6 acres of land", He maintained.
Provincial Minister and Chairman CDA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer further said that the scrutinizing process was conducted by involving NADRA, Election Commission of Pakistan and CDA which through a systematic scrutinizing process verified the relevant record to select the deserving persons for allotment of land in Cholistan.
"The total earmarked area of land for distribution among the selected first badge of deserving person stands at 2 lakh and 36 thousand acres which falls in 3 districts of Bahawalpur division which include: - 1 lakh and 87 thousand acres in district Bahawalpur, 88 thousand and 4 hundred acres in district Bahawalnagar and 3 thousand and 8 hundred acres in district Rahim Yar khan", He said.
Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer further said that all arrangements have been finalized in this regard and Chief Minister Punjab would soon distribute allotment letters among the selected Cholistani people.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative and Chairman CDA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that knowledge is a key which would unlock the doors of Prosperity and progress to make Pakistan an egalitarian state and society. He made these remarks while speaking as a Chief Guest at award giving ceremony to the position holders of Intermediate annual examination 2016, at Board Auditorium, here, today. The ceremony was attended by MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti, Chiarman Education Board Professor Rana Masood Akhter, Director Colleges Professor Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Principal Sadiq Public School Professor Nauman Qureshi, Principal Punjab College Baqir Hashmi, Principal Superior College Zahoor Chohan, Chairman Union Council Bilal Baluch, Fargham Ishtiaq, Maqbool Joiya, Principals of educational institutes, Staff of Education Board, Position Holder students with their parents and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
"Chief Minister Punjab's developmental paradigm is based on promoting state of the art education system which is amply reflected in government's stringent drive by enrolling 1.4 million new students into the school system along-with  recruiting 1 lakh and 35 thousand teachers to strengthen the public education system", He noted.
He further said that Government of Punjab has also established computer labs in 6 thousand schools which are aimed to promote computer literacy in the province. Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer also said that Government has acquired land to establish Bahawalpur women university near Airport road while university of animal sciences was also being established to provide modern veterinary facilities for the cholistani live stock in Bahawalpur Division.
Member of standing committee for information and broadcasting MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti highly appreciated the outstanding performance of students in the examination. She hoped that these hardworking brilliant students would provide future leadership which would bring grace and glory for our motherland.
Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rana Masood Akhter briefed the audience that as many as 42662 candidates appeared while 24664 passed the intermediate examination.
Later, Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer, MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti and Chairman Education Board Rana Masood Akhter gave away medals, shields and certificates among the position holders. At the end a smartly turned out contingent of police saluted the position holders.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Additional District and Session Judge Lodhran Bashir Ahmad Chaudhry paid a visit at Borstal Institute and Juvenile Jail, Bahawalpur, here, today. During his visit, he gave sympathetic hearing to the complaints and grievances of the inmates children and issued on the spot directions to resolve them. He directed jail authorities to release an inmate child on his personal surety.
