BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur
Division Saqib Zafar has directed the concerned officials of public health
engineering department to sharpen the pace of developmental work on ongoing
urban water supply and sewerage scheme amounting to Rs. 400 million to ensure
better civic amenities to the residents of Bahawalpur City. He issued these
directions while presiding over a high level meeting to review the pace of
developmental work of Urban water supply scheme and sewerage scheme in
Bahawalpur city. The meeting was attended by MPA Dr. Syed Waseem
Akhter, Director Development and planning Saqib Ali Ateel, X-en Public health
engineering Baqir Gardezi and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.

engineering Baqir Gardezi briefed the meeting that Urban water supply scheme
was being completed by spending Rs. 278 million which would get completed by
June 2017. Similarly, ongoing sewerage line scheme from Bahawal Victoria
Hospital to Disposal station Laal Baagh was under completion. The total outlay
of the projects stands at Rs. 170 million and 80 percent of the development
work has already being completed by spending Rs. 110 million.

MEPCO city Bahawalpur Division has said that supply of electricity of 66-KV
Grid Station of Yazman sub division would remain suspended on account of
maintenance and repair from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, from 20th of September to 22nd
of September and 24th of September to 26th of September.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for
cooperative and Chairman CDA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that
government is fully committed to provide all basic amenities to the Cholistani
people through a massive development work amounting to Rs. 2 billion and 50
million. This program has wide ranging development projects which are practical
reflection of Chief Minister Punjab's special commitment and dedication to
provide modern socio-economic infra-structure to the Cholistani people. He made
these remarks while holding a public Kachehri at Toba Chadhran Wala, Jugait
Peer, district Bahawalpur. The public kachehri was attended by
Chairman Zakaat and Ushr Rai Hassan Daaha, Chairman Union Council Dera Bakha
Rai Asad Rasool, Girdawar Cholistan Development Authority Haji Habeeb Ahmad,
Numberdaar CDA Mian Abdul Majeed Bhatti, Malik Yaseen Motha, Muhammad Arif
Chadhar, Rahim Bukhsh Chadhar, Faiz Muhammad Baloch and a large number of
Cholistani people.
The participants presented
various problems regarding provision of jobs, better irrigation system and
restoring the Quota of water supply for them. Provincial Minister Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer assured the participants that Government was mobilizing
all available resources to resolve all socio economic problems which is aimed
to extend decent living conditions to the citizens.
