BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal
Channer has said that Punjab Government is fully committed to promote Chief
Minister's vision to institutionalize the mechanized agriculture system by
providing set of agricultural equipments through 50% subsidy by allocating
billion of rupees in the Punjab province. Farmers and peasants through
transparent and merit based system would be provided set of agricultural
equipments and machinery having market price of Rs. 4 lakh and 80 thousand but
Punjab Government would provide the set of agricultural equipments at the rate
of Rs. 2 lakh and 40 thousand by providing 50% subsidy. He made these remarks
while chairing the ceremony of balloting process of providing the set of
agricultural equipments through Chief Minister Punjab's program of promoting
mechanized agriculture held at District Council Hall, Bahawalpur.
The ceremony was attended by MPA Mian Shoaib Awaisi, Chairman Union Council
Mian Maqbool Joiya, Bilal Baloch, EDO Agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad,
Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter and a large number of
farmers and cultivators.
Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer said that Pakistan's
food security is linked with promoting mechanized agriculture which would streamline
agriculture on modern lines. He further said that mechanized agriculture is affection
to increase per acre yield of cultivated crops which would strengthen the agro
based economy.
"To achieve a sustainable food security paradigm Chief
Minister Punjab's visionary leadership has focused to maximize the process of
providing economic relief to the peasants through various measures which
include:- Provision of green tractors, massive subsidy on fertilizers and
pesticides and tariff on agriculture tube wells", Minister Malik Muhammad
Iqbal Channer maintained.
Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer said that federal
government has provided subsidy of billion of Rs. to cotton and rice growers to
extend economic relief. He maintained that Government of Punjab would provide
set of agricultural equipment and machinery by providing subsidy to the tune of
Rs. 17.2 million to the peasant of 78 union councils of district Bahawalpur. He
further said that in the first phase of balloting process for providing set of agricultural
equipments in the 17 Union Councils of tehsil Bahawalpur has been completed
today. He further said that the modern agricultural gadgets would promote
mechanized cultivation which would boost agro economy which would bring
prosperity for our peasant community. Earlier, EDO Agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer
Ahmad in his briefing maintained that the set of agricultural equipments
contains: - Disk Plough, Laser leveler, Rabbi Drill and chisel plough. He
further said that these sets would be provided to the peasants in each tehsil
of the Bahawalpur district through balloting process.
Officials of the Drug Quality Control Board have imposed a fine on the violators of Drug act in Bahawalpur district
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Secretary Drug Quality Control Board Bahawalpur Division has
said that officials of the Drug Quality Control Board Bahawalpur Division have
imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 14 lakh and 62 thousand on the violators of
Drug act in Bahawalpur district. He made these remarks while giving briefing
about the progress report of his department pertaining to previous month.
The Officials of the Drug Quality control board conducted as
many as 1265 raids and collected 314 samples of medicines which were sent for
chemical examination in Bahawalpur Division. The raiding officers sealed 107
medical stores for selling sub standard medicines and 10 FIRs lodged against
the violators of Drug Act. The report further maintains that one case was sent
to Provincial Drug Quality control board while 23 cases were sent to Drug
Quality Control Board Bahawalpur Division. The report further said that Drug
Inspectors register cases against the 134 quacks and registered cases against
chemists for selling expired medicines.

He
expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held in the committee room
of his office, here today. Honorary Game Warden Punjab Shahrukh Butt, Director
Lahore Zoo Ch. Shafqat Ali, Deputy Director Headquarter Muhammad Naeem Bhatti,
Deputy Director Lahore Safari Zoo Syed Zafar-ul-Hassan and other concerned
officers were also present on the occasion. Director General Wildlife said that
promotion is right of every eligible and senior officer and official and it
should be given to them. He directed that annual confidential reports of
officers and officials should be completed on priority basis so that every
officer and official could be included in promotion process after ascertaining
eligibility and seniority.

Ayaz Khan emphasized upon officers, present in the meeting, to finalize pending
inquiries in their sections, concerned districts at the earliest so that cases
of acquit officers and officials could be recommended for promotion.
