                      BAHAWALPUR(PR)  Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has appointed Director Public Relations Bahawalpur Division Rana Ajaz Mahmood as Divisional focal person while the three Additional Deputy Commissioners head quarters of three districts Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar for conducting Chief Minister Punjab Talent Hunt Program's of music and painting in Bahawalpur Division.

                      BAHAWALPUR(PR)   Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has appointed the Deputy Commissioners of the three districts Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar as the chairmen of District Re dressal Committees of Chief Minister Punjab Talent Hunt Program regarding painting and music contests in Bahawalpur division. The Assistant Commissioner City's' of the three districts Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan would be the Secretary of the committee while Deputy Commissioner has been authorized to appoint a member of the District Committee.

                       BAHAWALPUR(PR)  Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal has directed the concerned quarters to undertake necessary measures for the land earmarked for establishing proposed water facilitation centers in District Bahawalpur. He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements regarding Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Program at the committee room of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by District Engineer Bahawalpur Usman Zafar, District Engineer Public Health Engineering Department Muhammad Irfan and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.

                                "Comprehensive policy framework should be evolved by evaluating both the quantum and quality of the available water to ensure Saaf Pani in the earmarked tehsils both for the Urban and Rural population", Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal directed.

                                Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the operational efficiency of the 27 water filtration plants initially installed in the district.

                                "Financial estimates for establishing Saaf Pani Facilitation centers should be finalized to initiate developmental work on these projects by the public health engineering department", Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal noted.

                                Deputy Commissioner appointed Deputy Director Development Asmatullah as a focal person to streamline and strengthen inter-tehsil coordination regarding Saaf Pani projects. The meeting was briefed that the proposed sites for pumping out water and the initial evaluation report and the relevant technical aspects have been finalized by the concerned departments.

6 lac children under the age of 5 years would be administered Polio drops in 12 Districts including Bahawalpur during 3 days Polio Eradication Campaign;Commencing from March 6

                       BAHAWALPUR(PR)  As many as 6 lac children under the age of 5 years would be administered Polio drops in 12 Districts including Bahawalpur during 3 days Polio Eradication Campaign which would commence on 6^th of March. This was stated during a meeting to finalize the arrangements of 3 day Polio Eradication campaign in District Bahawalpur by the officials of health department at the committee room of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Nausheen Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Aftab Peerzada, Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Dr. Saeed Asghar, Representative of World Health Organization Dr. Yasir, President of trade union Hafiz Muhammad Younis, All the Assistant Commissioners of the District and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.

                                "As many as 1369 Polio drops administering teams which include:- 1077 mobile teams, 157 fixed teams, 117 teams for public transport centers and 18 teams for markets should be fully functionalized to cover each and every child to achieve the goal of Polio free District", Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal directed.

                                Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to mobilize all available resources by further activating tehsil Polio eradication committees by establishing tehsil control rooms to monitor the functioning of Polio Eradication teams by getting the services of staff of the Union Councils in the District.

                                "Special teams should be dispatched both to riverine and Cholistani area to cover the children in these far flung places", Deputy Commissioner directed.

                                "All stake holders should play their role with missionary zeal to attain the fixed targets of the Polio campaign to ensure a Polio free District which is vital to have healthy, energetic and dynamic human resource base", Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal noted.

                                Earlier, the meeting was apprised of that a toll free number 080012012 has also been installed if the Polio drop administering team fails to reach in their assigned area during this campaign.

                      
First phase of 2 stages of census process 2017 would commence on 15^th of March in District Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR(PR)  The first phase of 2 stages of census process 2017 would commence on 15^th of March in District Bahawalpur. This was stated during a high level meeting to review the arrangements regarding conducting census in district Bahawalpur, held at the committee room of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Officers of Pak Army, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Bahawalpur Aqeel Najam Hashmi, District Police Officer Bahawalpur Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Nausheen Malik, Assistant Commissioners of District Bahawalpur, Chief Officer Statistics Riaz Ahmad, Cantonment Executive Officer Zafar Mahmood and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.

                                "During the 2 phase census process: - The 1^st phase would commence on 15^th of March in District Bahawalpur and would end on 4^th of April while the 2^nd phase would remain in operation from 25^th of April to 25^th of May in District Bahawalpur", the meeting was briefed.

                                Chief Officer Statistics briefed the meeting that during the 1^st phase 1908 officials would conduct census and house enumeration in 318 circle and 2671 blocks while during the 2^nd phase as many as 484 officials would conduct census and house enumeration in 103 circle and 985 blocks in the Cholistani area.

                                Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal urged upon the concerned officials to mobilize all available resources to protect the relevant record and other material both census and house enumeration by establishing control rooms at the tehsil level. He further directed to complete the training process for conducting census and house enumeration of the concerned officials who hail from armed forces and civilian departments.

                                "The census and house enumeration is very vital for efficient and effective policy formulating process to accelerate the pace of socio economic development to extend decent and comfortable civic amenity cover to the citizens", Deputy Commissioner noted.

    BAHAWALPUR(PR)    Audio books for the blind children of 9^th and 10^th classes have been prepared under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal which are available to the children at Government secondary school for the blind Model Town 'A', Bahawalpur.

                                The access to these books is available by utilizing USB devices at the blind school free of cost during the working hours.
