The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has achieved another mile stone by recruiting 251 faculty members

BAHAWAL PUR (PR): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has achieved another mile stone by recruiting 251 faculty members at Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor level under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. These posts were vacant since last many years causing shortage of teachers in all six faculties of the university. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq took this matter on top priority and conducted 12 selection boards to appoint highly competent teachers through a transparent selection system based on merit which was highly praised in government and education circles. In this connection, a meeting of the selection board participated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor, Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor, University of Gujrat and Muhammad Ali Gardezi, member Punjab Public Service Commission held at Abbasia Campus. The board interviewed 150 candidates for various administrative posts including deputy registrar, deputy controller examinations, deputy treasurer and assistant treasurer besides teaching posts in disciplines of electrical engineering, pathobiology and livestock production and management. It is important to mention that university conducted selection board for administrative posts after a gap of 8 years which shows the commitment of the present university leadership to strengthen both teaching and administrative sides of the university to make it a leading institution of higher learning in Pakistan.
