Divisional Agriculture Advisory Committee Meeting
 Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has directed the concerned departments to formulate a comprehensive and coherent operational policy framework to synchronize their agricultural policy endeavor to ensure prosperity of the peasants
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has directed the concerned departments to formulate a comprehensive and coherent operational policy framework to synchronize their agricultural policy endeavor to ensure prosperity of the peasants which are the back bone of our agro based economy. He issued these directions while presiding over divisional agriculture advisory committee meeting here at his conference room. The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture, Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Idrees Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, Officers of agriculture department, Representatives of Sugar Mills, Representatives of peasants' community and banks while Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar joined the meeting through video link.
            "Comprehensive policy initiative should be formulated through formulating recommendation by consultative process, with the organizations of peasants which should be aimed to redress various problems faced by the peasants community", Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar noted.
            Commissioner Bahawalpur further directed administrative officers of the 3 districts to mobilize all available resources to formulate an effective strategy for timely payment of the outstanding from the sugar mills, providing decent farm to market road network and to ensure price stabilization to protect the economic rights of the peasants' community.
            Director Agriculture in a detailed briefing apprised of the meeting that crops are cultivated to an estimated area of 5670 acres of land while sugar cane is cultivated on an area to the extent of 1728 acres.
            The meeting was further apprised of that agriculture loans to the tune of Rs. 180 million to as many as 2456 peasants through soft loans; registration of 117146 peasants for issuance of Kisan cards; 1218 peasants have been selected through merit based system for subsidized agro equipments and 6825 peasants have been provided 13907 waste free gunny bags in the 3 districts of Bahawalpur Division.

Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur  paid surprise visit at Bahawal Victoria Hospital
                            
BAHAWALPUR(PR)  Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal paid surprise visit at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, on Tuesday. During his surprise visit Deputy Commissioner inspected various departments of the BVH which include:- emergency and accidents, outdoor, surgical wards, medical wards, cardio-logical ward, crisis management hall, operation theatre, pathological lab, Ultrasound, city scan, central pharmacy and radiology department facilities of the hospital. He inquired after the health of various patients who were present at emergency and accident department and inquired from them about the quality of health facilities and provision of medicines.
                        Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction about the health facilities provided to the patients and the maintenance of better profile of cleanliness at the emergency ward. He further directed that consultants should ensure their presence during the working hours at the outdoor of the hospital to ensure adequate health cover to the patients visiting from the far flung areas. He further directed to undertake proper measures for proper maintenance of stock of medicines by further expanding the space for storing them.
                        During his visit Deputy Commissioner also went to the patients admitted in CCU and cardiology ward. He inquired after their health and inquired from them about the provision of medicines and level of health cover provided to them.
                        Earlier, Deputy Commissioner directed Medical Superintendent of BVH Dr. Rao Javed Akhter to take proper measures to ensure proper maintenance and functioning of all the medical equipment available in the hospital. During the visit Medical Superintendent of BVH Professor Dr. Rao Javed Akhter briefed the visiting Deputy Commissioner that at BVH as many as more than 5 thousand patients are treated who were provided free medicines and all test facilities for pathological examination are free of cost.

DC Bahawalpur inspected the racing track of TDCP Cholistan Desert Rally
                               BAHAWALPUR(PR) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal inspected the racing track of TDCP Cholistan Desert Rally here in the area of Cholistan. He was accompanied by DPO Bahawalpur Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Aftab Peerzada, Assistant Commissioner Yazman Rao Muhammad Shakeel, Assistant Commissioner Ahmadpur East Abdul Rauf, Divisional Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dr. Asif Rahim Channar, Manager TDCP Shahid Mahmood and other concerned officials.
                                During his visit Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal inspected the route of desert rally and a specially the starting point. He directed the concerned officials that all arrangements to make this mega event a real success should be completed within the stipulated time frame. During his visit he was briefed that during 9th of February to 12th of February 144 would be imposed and the entry of private and personal vehicles and motorbikes would stand suspended at racing track for the 4 days of desert rally. Deputy Commissioner was further apprised of that engineering wing of CDA has completed the repair and maintenance of the roads which would be used by the visitors during the 4 day TDCP desert rally.

Fine was imposed upon various food outlets for selling sub standard, unhygienic and adulterated food stuff to the Consumers
                             BAHAWALPUR(PR)   A fine to the tune of Rs. 1 lac and 50 thousand was imposed upon various food outlets for selling sub standard, unhygienic and adulterated food stuff to the consumers. Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter conducted surprise raids at various hotels, restaurants and other food outlets at Chowk Fawara, Farid Gate, Shikarpuri Gate, Saraiki Chowk and Machli Bazar and checked the hygienic quality of cooking oil and Ghee used at these food outlets through oil checking kits. He was accompanied by District Health Officer Dr. Zeeshan Rauf, AC (Under training) Pervaiz Murree and sanitary inspector Rana Saleem.

Sports Gala of Sadiq Egerton College Bahawalpur's and annual prize distribution ceremony  would be held  on 11th of February

2 workshops of theater performance and photography training jointly organized by Bahawalpur Art Council and Interactive Resource Center
                               BAHAWALPUR(PR) Resident Director Bahawalpur Art Council Rana Ajaz Mahmood has maintained that vigorous, sustained and effective policy framework stand fully operationalized to impart practical training to the students regarding various forms of performing art which would channelize their creative potential on positive and constructive lines and 7 days long 2 workshops of theater performance and photography training jointly organized by Bahawalpur Art Council and Interactive Resource Center at Rasheedia Auditorium is the practical reflection of the new Media Policy framework of Punjab Government. He made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest at the inaugural session of 7 days training workshop on photography.
            The inaugural session was attended by Deputy Director Public Relations Nasir Hameed, Director Interactive Resource Centre Muhammad Waseem, Professor Dr. Shahzad Rana, Athar Jahania, Master trainer Sajjad Pervaiz, Assistant Director Bahawalpur Art Council Qaiser Saleem, Admin Officer Mrs. Mah Jabeen Tahir and a large number of students of colleges and universities.
            "Training workshops regarding photography, theatrical and musical performance and documentary making for hundreds of students of colleges and Universities are aimed to practically involved our youth to fully operationalize the true spirit of national action program through a comprehensive policy framework of department of information and culture government of the Punjab", Rana Ajaz Mahmood noted.
            He highly appreciated the services of Director IRC Muhammad Waseem and Professor Dr. Shahzad Rana for launching these months long sessions of training workshops of the students through joint collaboration of IRC and Bahawalpur Art Council. Earlier, Professor Dr. Shahzad Rana in his brief address maintained that these training workshops would go a long way to create a new and progressive narrative which would sharpen the pace of establishing an egalitarian society.Hundreds of students from various colleges and universities are participating in these workshops at Rasheedia Auditorium Bahawalpur.
