Students of DMS IUB  secured 3rd position all over the country in stock trading competition of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. 

BAHAWALPUR(PR)The students of Department of Management Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur secured 3rd position all over the country in stock trading competition of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor has felicitated the faculty member and students participating and winning position in the competition. The Investor Education Department, under auspices of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), organized a stock trading competition for university students all over Pakistan. The purpose of the competition was to enable students to comprehend the rudimentary working of the stock market and take advantage of quality trading opportunities in the capital market. A total of 32 Public and Private universities registered for the competition. The Department of Management Sciences (DMS), the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was also contacted by SECP for the same. Capitalizing on the opportunity offered, DMS nominated a three member team. The team comprised of Mr. Saleh Nawaz Khan (Team leader), Habib Ahmed and Usama Chishti (members). This two months long electronic trading competition was designed to provide students with hands on experience of stock trading where students traded using live rates fetched from Pakistan Stock Exchange Ltd. (PSX) in a simulated environment. The IUB team proved their mettle and secured third position in this trading competition, claiming their right on merit certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 50, 000/, sponsored by leading security trading companies of Pakistan. The award distribution ceremony is arranged by SECP on January 26, 2018 in Karachi to appreciate efforts of the winning teams.
